Question When are you too old for???

lowrider jeans?? and shopping in the junior section??? I know I sound silly but I am going nuts with this...... It just seems like something is not right, most of my friends are my age and feel the same way I did stop wearing short shorts 2 years ago, and started wearing mostly crapis pants(I hope I spelled it right) for the summer, but now I feel alittle funny shopping in the junior section yet not comfortable shopping in the womens section either , Can someone advice me on this? or does any one share some of my feelings on this?

I was going to ask you all to guess my age but I rather not What if you guys guess much older than what I really am

As far as the clothing goes, what ever one feels comfortable in wearing and what one like's is what's important. I personally can never find clothing that I like in the stores so took to sewing many years ago and up untill this past fall made most of my clothing, with the exception of jeans, and now can't find the ones I like anyplace guess they quit making them I have bought things in the Jr. Dept. don't bother me at all, as long as they are a conservative style (that's me). As for age, it is only a number. I just had a birthday the 7th. and don't think of the number just keep on thinking of all there is to do and loving to look at the accomplishments of the things I do get done. Hope your clothing shopping is more fun in the future, why did you quit wearing shorts last year, doesn't it get quite hot there in texas? Golly, I can't wait till am able to get back to using the sewing machine, Oh happy day I don't even want to shop for clothing in the stores.Patti

I shop in both jr and womens & I'm pretty sure I'm older than you do whatever you feel comfortable in. There's no law that says you have to change clothing styles with age.

I think you are only too old for lowriders and the junior sections when you are no longer comfortable. I don't think it is nearly as much an age thing as it is a size thing. If you find something that fits without "stuff" hanging over and you like it, are comfortable with it -- then it must be right.

Well, you are not as old as I am. I will be sixty next month. I feel very young at heart but dress my age. When I was younger, I was too heavy to wear stylish clothes but the past few years I have been normal weight. i find I still go back to the dress suits and dark colors (when dressing up) if I'm not careful. I have tried to incorporate color and younger looking clothes into my wardrobe. I do not shop Jr..s or low riders or anything like that. BUT, I dig thru the misses dept and avoid the old lady clothes. I have found I can find a lot of clothes that are stylish and decent looking for my age. I have a terrible time finding jeans because almost all are the low riders. But recently found some Gloria Vanderbilt jeans that are butt hugging and lifting with a reg. waist and I love them. To me, there is nothing uglier than a woman, say forty or older or even thirty five and older trying to look like a teeny bopper. Sometimes it's simply that they don't know how to dress. I am surprised that so many of us really don't know how to dress stylish, yet age appropiate. A good idea is for you to goto a store that has people to help you and have them pick out some stuff for you. Kind of like the tv show, What Not to Wear. You don't have to buy but you will get some good ideas.

I don't do low riders - but I do look for a mid-rise. I have a hard enough time finding pants to fit cause I have a small waist and a round rear - so whatever clothing section I can find them to fit is where I buy.

I don't like to see hanging flesh, or "cracks" no matter what age you are!!

Thanks guys for all your replies I surely feel confused but I do feel comfortable in some junior clothes but I still wonder I guess I see too many women that just dont look "right" in those younger clothes and I just get worried about me looking like that

Sounds like everyone is pretty much in agreement here! It's extremely hard for me to find clothes that fit because I am so short and Petite Departments with good selections are hard to find. If I find jeans that are comfortable, I buy them regardless of the department. Shirts/sweaters/jackets are a whole different story! If they don't fit well, I am absolutely miserable!!

I think it has a lot more to do with shape than age. I saw a really heavy lady the other day and she was wearing lowriders and one of those little T's that shows your bellybutton if you raise your arms. I am not lying, it made me gag!! About 6-8" of her fat belly was literally hanging out!! Ewwwww!!

LOL do you live next door to me ?? My neighbor dresses like that and wow -

About 2 years ago she was outside getting her mail in her ROBE and nothing under it and totally flashed my husband - he's a MAN and he even gagged lol !!

I think as far as 'fashion' the look that I can't stand is these girls with their thongs way above the jean line - that's just plain tacky looking. I can see a tiny bit but some girls show the whole thing - I do not need to see that when I'm out - girls showing their butts is just SO pathetic and attention seeking

LOL......I think that just because they make it in a larger size doesn't mean you should wear it I mean if it looks nice and you feel good in it, go for it but if it's just making people sick

I am 54 and a size 4. It is very difficult to find pants in misses that fit some don't even go down to size 4. I usually but jeans like DKNY and Calvin klein because they fit. I never go for the low waist and wear age appropriate tops. I use to shop in Juniors ubtil the low low rise and skin tight short tops came into style. Generally I feel if I have to ask is this age approprite then it probably isn't LOL

I wish!!! Boy, the stuff we could get into .... Houston would never be the same!!

Oh, that is tooo funny! I would have loved to have seen the expression on his face. When I pointed out the lady to Patrick, he just said "OMG"!!!

Don't even get me started on thongs!! Those things way above jeans just looks so nasty! Patrick calls them "Fanny Floss"!!!
