| Some people are soooo stupid!!!! I just found out that my poor auntie lost her 10 year old chihuahua in a tragic accident. Apparently, the fence was open a crack and he ran out onto the road and was run over by a truck. She had just gone back into the house to answer the phone and didn't notice that he was outside. The poor baby was pinned and dragged by the truck before he was recovered. It is every dog owners worst nightmare and my poor aunt is devastated. This happened on Monday and she has been crying non-stop. They had to rush her to the emergency room and the doctor prescribed valiums to calm her down and allow her to sleep. I was relaying this story to a co-worker when another co-worker interjected that she didn't understand how someone would need to be medicated over a dog. WHAT??? How can people be so stupid??? The loss of a pet is just as devastating as the loss of any other loved one. Why don't people understand this? I am praying that my poor auntie find peace over this unimaginable loss and that more people like my clueless co-worker get a clue. Pets are people too.

| I am so, so sorry for your Aunt's loss. I couldn't imagine something that horrific happening to one of my furbabies. I got the same remark from a couple family members after Kelli died, "remember, she was just a dog". I HATE that statement....any kind of statement that makes it seem as love from our furbabies and FOR our furbabies is any different than any other kind of love we'd feel for a family member or friend. They become a part of us and when they're gone, it hurts just like (and sometimes even worse) when we lose a family member and/or friend. I know when we lost Kelli I cried so hard I was sick for a day (sorry for TMI), I couldn't make the tears stop, and almost 2 weeks later I still have daily crying spells over missing her so much. Their love is so unconditional, it's in our hearts the minute they give us their snuggles and kisses. I'll be thinking of your Aunt, I hope that with each day things become easier for her.

| Oh...how totally awful for your aunt and her baby! Some people just don't understand the love that some of us feel for our pets. Sad but true. |

| wow, I can not believe someone would say that! I was a mess when Gus had is accident. I could not eat or sleep. All I did was cry! And even after he came home looking so frail and sick I was still crying. I think about it now and both me and my daughter want to cry. I am so sorry for your aunt. I was very lucky that my baby came back to me. I could only imagine the pain she is going through. I will pray that her pain will ease.

| A couple of my coworkers & family members do not have pets. They couldn't believe I was willing to go through the trouble with my cat when he had a urinary tract blockage (apparently they think I should've left him to die)! Some people just don't understand what it's like to love a pet. They've probably never had an animal in their life... with the exception of that goldfish they won at the fair when they were five . One person in particular HATES animals. I wouldn't be surprised if she tries to run over stray cats or something... Her brother brought his dog to her house for about an hour one day and she made him pay to have her carpets cleaned! Can you believe that?! I was devastated when my lovebird died (he was almost 12 years old!), even though he wasn't an over friendly bird that I could play with, I was still attached to him. I would ignore their comments. They just don't understand these are our children and that we love and cherish them deeply (they just have a bit more hair!) Please express my condolances to your aunt. It sounds like she loved her Chi very much. Hopefully in time, she'll be able to open her heart to another one. |

| That's so terribly sad...I'm so sorry to hear about this, and I wish that more people would understand that pets are members of the family. We'll be praying for her... |

| It takes all kinds in this world for sure. It's sad to see so many who are uncompassionate towards others in distress. I am horribly sorry for your Aunt's loss.

| I am so sorry to hear about her loss....I will pray that her pain is healed. Ya...some people just love theere pets to death...it is very sad. I guess some people just dont understand. I dont believe that it is the same feeling of losing a child or anything. I do believe that losing a human is much much more tragic then losing a pet but still very very sad none the less.

| That is terrible. I am so very sorry for your Aunt's loss. I can only imagine how I would feel in that situation, and I am pretty sure I would need major medication to get over it! We will be thinking of her and praying for her.

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Your poor aunt! I, too, do not understand some people but it wasn't meant for everyone to understand each other. Maybe someday, they will have that special connection with a furbaby and then they will know what it feels like to experience such a loss. The world we live in is far from perfect and they will have to answer for their insensivity someday.

| How very tragic! What a terrible way to lose something so very precious to you. I will pray for your aunt. Others appear stupid when they say something like your co-worker, but really it is just ignorance....not knowing. These people obviously never got to experience the grand love between a pet and its owner....it is their loss for sure. I feel so very bad for your aunt. Like someone else mentioned, please keep in touch with her...it will mean so much to hear from someone who understands why she is so very distraught. |
