| possible paypal scam?? I just got this email, twice!! I logged on to paypal (not via this email) and I don't have a credit card it shows only my bank account ??? This email did have the correct last 4 of my card though but it doesn't expire for a couple of years (when I signed up for paypal though maybe i had old expiration date). What do you guys think??? Your credit card ending in **** will expire soon. To avoid any disruption to your PayPal service, please update your credit card expiration date by following these steps: Log in to your PayPal account. Go to the Profile subtab and click Credit Cards in the Financial Information column. Choose the credit card that needs updating and click Edit. Enter the updated card information. Or simply get the PayPal Plus Credit Card. You could be approved almost instantly, and there’s no annual fee. Apply today. Sincerely, PayPal -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this email. This mailbox is not monitored and you will not receive a response. For assistance, log in to your PayPal account and click the Help link in the top right corner of any PayPal page. To receive email notifications in plain text instead of HTML, update your preferences. PayPal Email ID PP031

| When the letter started did it say Dear Paypal cutsomer? or Dear (your name) if it does NOT have your name and your account number in the email, it is a scam and you should report it to paypal. I had this happen and i called them to ask and that is what they told me. |

| Actually, I have to take that back. mine wasn't quite like yours. I DO have a PayPal Plus Credit Card. My email said it would expire in May unless i updated my info. I called PayPal and they said this is a scam. My card doesn't expire until next year. |

Senior Yorkie Talker | A good rule of thumb is that these emails don't usually ask you to click a link to get to their site to do anything. For any email I get that is linked to a bank account or paypal or anything important I launch my browser and go to the site manually and log in to do whatever I have to do. I never click the links in the emails. These fishing emails are getting better every year and its very hard to tell the difference anymore. What makes it worse is that even the legit links are sometimes so cryptic.
