A good rule of thumb is that these emails don't usually ask you to click a link to get to their site to do anything. For any email I get that is linked to a bank account or paypal or anything important I launch my browser and go to the site manually and log in to do whatever I have to do. I never click the links in the emails. These fishing emails are getting better every year and its very hard to tell the difference anymore. What makes it worse is that even the legit links are sometimes so cryptic.
