| I am about to go OFF!!!!! Long story --not-so-short, I saw this lady at church that my best friend is friends with...she was asking where my best friend was...saying she needed to talk to her about the fact that she can't come to her wedding (my best friend is getting married in May...and it is out of state). I said "well, I'm not sure why she isn't here this morning, but she will be coming over for dinner tonight and I will let her know that you need to talk to her." she then proceeded to say "do you mind if I invite myself over???" well...I don't want to be rude to her...and even tho I can't really stand this woman...I said yes. I just hate to be rude. even tho I KNEW I would regret it. low and behold....they come over with their 2 boys, ages 7 and 5, and have dinner and hang out for a bit. Their boys are literally climbing the walls...they think they are spiderman. literally...they climb walls. they climb door frames. and when in the hallway, they will spread their legs and arms to reach each wall and climb the walls. the parents just cheer them on and laughed about it. I was flipping out. Let me just add that my daughter is at a sleepover so she wasn't here. anyway...at one point I notice that the boys are going into my daughters bedroom and I had asked that they only play in the playroom and not the bedroom. So I asked the father to go and check on them. He comes back and says, jokingly "were there fish in that fish tank???? cuz there aren't now. the boys were trying to "pet" the fish." then he laughed and said he was joking...the fish were there but they were really trying to pet the fish. I just kinda rolled my eyes and sighed. soooooooo....they leave. they don't ask their boys to clean up the mess they made or anything. keep in mind,...before I allowed my daughter to go to this sleepover, I made her completely clean her bedroom and play room. well...these boys leave and the play room is destroyed. literally. they have taken toy bins and dumped them on the floor. they took the chalk from the easel and broke it into hundreds of pieces and scattered it on the floor. I can't even walk in there!!!!!!!!!! but that's not the best part!!! I go into Trinity's bedroom to see if they had gotten water on the floor. BOY...don't I wish that was all they did!!!!! They had pens, markers, hair bows, and toys inside the fish tank!! AND....to top it off...one of the fish is missing!!!! yes..MISSING!!!! I am freaking out at this point. I take the tank into the kitchen to clean it...I empty everything out...NO FISH!!! turns out the fish is in the filter...half of his scalp missing!! I am livid!!! I swear I want to go off of these people. I just dont' know how to do it. Since they are good friends of my best friend, I hate to make things akward and bad. but OMG they are NEVER allowed to come to my house again. NOT TO MENTION...I made it VERY clear that they are not allowed to play with the dogs,. I actually had the dogs closed off in my bedroom. I was in the kitchen cleaning up and my husband went to the bathroom. The dogs ran out and when I went to look for them, Tessa ran into the play room with me and one of the boys picked her up and put her on top of the horse. this is a stand up horse that my 7 year old daughter can sit on and not touch the ground!!! I went OFF on them and said "NO,...you do NOT play with my dogs!!!!!!!!" and I took tessa and then locked her and maggie in my bedroom so no one could get in there. I am just seeing red right now!!! am I crazy??? I just cant handle people that do not feel the need to watch their children...ESPECIALLY at someone else's house. ESPECIALLY when they invited THEMSELVES over!! and I swear...I would never let my daughter make a mess at someone's house and then just leave it there. HELL NO!!!! so...I think I am going to send them an email and let them know how I feel. I think that sounds cowardly of me...but I know that if I call them or talk to them in person, I will say some harsh things and just totally flip out on them. If I write it in an email, I can edit it to make it not so ugly. make sense??? I just dont' know what else to do...but I want to make sure they understand that they are NOT invited to my house again!!!!

| Now I agree you have every right to be mad but I would suggest sleeping on it so that your emotions do not make you say things that you may not have said after sleeping on it. I have learned .. still learning actually... dont respond in haste. It bothers me when parents do not make their kids behave.

| Ooohh..I wouldn't care if they were a friend of a friend..I sure wouldn't have been friendly after all that! Tell them exactly how you feel. Who cares what they think...I HATE when people let their kids act like that!

| Oh boy. I can see red, and it's not even my house. That is a HUGE pet peeve of mine! HUGE! When we went to anyone's house, my girls typically didn't leave my side unless they had been there before and were "welcomed" to play with the other children. But other than that, they didn't leave the room I was in! Even my kids could never stand kids like that. I agree with Twalla - make sure you sleep on it. And here is the lesson - I learned it years ago........ Say no to the self-invite in the first place. It's your house. It was your dinner. I am not "forward" enough to be so direct as simply "no". But I come up with some excuse that "tonight wouldn't be a good time because we're discussing something personal, my daughter isn't feeling well, the dogs aren't feeling well", whatever. I'm so sorry. You shouldn't have had to deal with that. Really bad parenting on their part.
