| Dog flu vaccine side effects. After doing a LOT of research, I've found that there are no specific side effects to the dog flu vaccine that are any different from any other regular injected dog vaccine. Hence the link to the AVMA vaccine effects page that I gave above. The only other information specific to this vaccine that I found was from a vendor website: Order Canine Influenza Vaccine | Canine Flu Vaccine Quote:

| We are schedualed for everyone to get the first one Monday! I have to pick up new Benadryl this weekend mine expired. Joey doesn't get any vaccines without it anymore. He just doesn't do great with shots. We do Benadryl before and then Metacam for two days. He is my sensitive little one and I don't want to take the chance of him reacting to anything like he did as a puppy, scared the crud out of me. I think Lyme was what he reacted poorly too but I would rather be safe then sorry. Penny you could never tell when she gets her shots same little energizer bunny. Callie just likes to rest the day she gets shots.

| we don't get our dogs done anymore...there was a big news article/show on CNN that investigations have shown its not necessary to get all the shots for your dogs.......on top of that even though you get your dog vaccines does not mean that its the strain that your dog was in contact with....there are thousands of strains out there... its just my Personal Opinion. everyone to their own and what they think is good... Most Vets will say have them vaccinated, its $$$ for them and not really needed...

| I have been very lucky to find a vet that doesn't push anything. I love my vet even shadowed for her through my classes.

| https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZlAfGPX2j8 I have forwarded you a link.... the ultimate decision is yours, we have decided to no longer get the shots for our dogs. And, as a Teacher, I could get into a deep discussion...so feel free to pm me anytime on humans! Just to be clear, the H1n1 is the swine flu, and your dog maybe in contact with any strain out there....there are millions of strains out there. just do your research.

The video has nothing to do with canine influenza. Also, the bivalent canine influenza vaccine is for strains H3N8 and H3N2. It has nothing to do with H1N1. H1N1 is mainly a swine and human disease and only rarely infects dogs. There is no H1N1 vaccine for dogs. What was more interesting to me was the section of the video on annual heartworm tests. Evidently, heartworm is much more common in the US than in Canada. My vet sees several cases every year. It's dangerous to make broad generalizations about the need for heartworm medication and tests based on incidence in a location where it is very rare. You need to consider the incidence in your particular area and speak with your local vet. | |

| A few months ago the dog flu went through Cali’s agility class mates like wild fire. Now the organizTion insists that the dogs be vaccinated and so do most of the boarding kennels as well. Claimdid nit get the four, butmshe had been vaccinated for it. We all sat down and noted that none ofmghendogsmwhomhad been vaccinated became ill, only an few who,had not been vaccinated camo down with symptoms and were pretty sick pups for a while. It is kind of like do you vaccinate your kids to send them to school with the unvaccinated kids. This year we had several teen deaths from flu.
