| I can't answer your question, what I can tell you is, Izzy you say is 8 months old, if she didn't come into season yet she will soon. Most come into heat between 6 to 8 months. If she comes into season and you had a 4 month old male his hormones could kick in, I am not knowledgeable in that area, I can assure you, you will get answers to that question. I am a safety freak, I would never take that chance.

| It wouldn't surprise me if he could figure it out. It's better to be safe then sorry in my opinion. What happens if she goes into heat and then you have to wait 3 months to spay her he will be older by then.

| My last female was gotten in 1997, at that time vets advised to spay before first heat for health reasons, IDK if that rule has changed over the years. my pup (back then) was spayed at 5 months. YT members say to wait in case baby teeth need to be pulled out, this way pup doesn't have under go anesthesia twice. 8 months I'd say she'll be coming into heat soon. I suggest also getting her spayed before you bring a male home, also gives her re-coop time, with a new play mate she'll be wanting to romp and play. Unless you can keep them safely separated.

| I meant if OP had her spayed and had the lil puppy, keep them separated so lil Izzy could re-coop after surgery. I would never suggest having intact male & female separated when female comes into season. I am all for spay and neuter if not going to breed.

YT 500 Club Member | Well I just went to my vet today, and he looked at Izzy's teeth and looks like there is only 1 baby tooth left and it's the long sharp one that is easy to get. The one on the other side actually came out last night. My boyfriend has it in his wallet, lol. And that last tooth is wiggly, so most likely she'll manage that one on her own. So that was really good news. And I'm making an appointment to get her spayed. And while she's healing I'll just separate the upstairs from the downstairs and during the day Scott will take Sumo yorkie to work with him. His boss has a large dog play pen for her puppy that she takes with her every day. So she can heal and he can play. It will work out. I'm positive of it. |

| I can only speak from my experience. Cody has never humped, and he hasn't even raised his little leg to pee on either the wee wee pad or outside. So, maybe he is an exception to a rule? But, I have heard once you neuter them it greatly reduces their urge to hump and mark. I wish you the best of luck with whatever you decide. Quote:

YT 500 Club Member | Well, I'll have to update tomorrow after my blood pressure goes down, because I have written an update twice only to have the entire thing which was pretty long, disappear into thin air each time. So when I can stand to go through it all over again, I will fill you all in on Toby' s arrival |
