My last female was gotten in 1997, at that time vets advised to spay before first heat for health reasons, IDK if that rule has changed over the years. my pup (back then) was spayed at 5 months. YT members say to wait in case baby teeth need to be pulled out, this way pup doesn't have under go anesthesia twice. 8 months I'd say she'll be coming into heat soon. I suggest also getting her spayed before you bring a male home, also gives her re-coop time, with a new play mate she'll be wanting to romp and play. Unless you can keep them safely separated.
