| introducing myself!!! Hello everyone in the yorkie community, I have two yorkies a morkie and a Maltese they are all my babies but im here to get advice on my 2 little yorkies. Bella is 8 months old I socialized her very well and trained her to go outside but when its cold out she uses the training pads. She is such a good girl!! I brought my male Benji at 9 months from someone who I thought was abusing him. I had just put down my yorkie male Romeo his lungs where not developed properly so I couldn't see him suffer anymore. I believe in my heart that god wanted me to rescue Benji form his life of abuse. I have him now and I want to give him the best life possible. I took him to the vet for his shots the poor baby is 9 months with no shots and that makes me so upset but ill leave that for another time. Benji has been abused so now im working with him and one of the things I want him to work with is that sometimes when I pick him up or when he sleeps next to me his body is so stiff, he shivers a lot I know that has to do with his nerves but if anyone has some advice I would appreciate it!! |

| Welcome to YorkieTalk! There is so much great info here--we have breeders, rescuers, anybody that loves Yorkies! I'm so grateful to you for saving that poor baby. Sometimes I hate people when I see how awful they can be to these poor little pups. When you can, post some pictures of your babies--we love pictures! I can't really help with your question, but there are lots of people who can and will! Again, welcome to you and your pups!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Awww, what a sweet story...I'm so sorry you lost your little one, but I'm so happy you took Benji into your home and heart . Benji will heal with time and trust and love...you will get him there. As far as the shivering, do you actually think he's cold maybe? Some yorkies get quite cold at certain times of the year and may have to wear little sweaters or something. As far as the healing part of it, I'm hoping some of our rescue folks to chime in as they are the experts in this area. WELCOME to YT !

| I was given some wonderful advice on here for my Anna. She is a fearful dog also and had a very rough first six years. Hopefully a few of the ladies who gave me advice will offer you suggestions. But one thing that is very important for fearful dogs is for them to become more confident. Training him to do some tricks such as sit, come, etc. will help with this. The one thing that Anna taught me is that it is not enough to just love them. Trust me, if that were true, she would have been "cured" long ago. They need to feel secure with themselves. Good luck with Benji.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Hi and welcome to YT! It sounds like you'll fit right in here. Be sure to rule out anything physical with your pup shivering since pups are known to show few signs when they're in pain.

| Welcome to Yorkie Talk! I am sorry for your loss of Romeo. Benji is a very lucky boy to have found his way into your heart and home. He will adjust in time and with patience. He will probably follow the lead of your other doggies. Having a daily routine of activities: sleeping, meals, brief play sessions/training, is comforting to dogs. The training -- doing sits and other little tricks for a kibble and praise -- helps them feel accomplished. When the weather is better, then you can move to outdoor activities and find out what he enjoys. Best wishes!

| Benji, is coming around so nice I have only had him for a week and I see him playing with the other dogs more when I first introduced him to my pack he wouldn't play just observe them so now he is playing with them. He enjoys going to pet smart with Bella I take them all with me to Pet Smart but since I want him to adjust well I have only been taking him places with Bella my female yorkie. He loves to go for walks and playing (well he never had toys where he came from so its all new for him) I introduced him to toys and treats. It really makes me sad that someone would sell a pup to this lady that never new how to treat dogs which I don't think that's a good excuse because there's so much information online so you can learn what's needed to have a good healthy baby. I treat all my babies with a lot of love im going to load some pictures so soon you will see how cute my Benji , Bella, Roxy and Bently are!! Once again thanks everyone for welcoming me into your community! |
