| Acting crazy after applying Frontline Plus? My 3 1/2 lb. Yorkie freaked out the last time I applied Frontline Plus, so I don't know if I should use it again. He looked upset, and went into his crate and seemed to hide. He hasn't used his crate since he was about 6 months old, and is now 15 months old, so it isn't like he was really comfortable there. He looked like he was ashamed. Like he had done something wrong. I don't know if all that liquid just felt weird, or if it hurt him in some way. Has anyone else had a reaction like this? Little Winston is a nervous dog. He's afraid of change - afraid of the boxes that came via UPS, afraid of the rabbits that he wants to chase in the yard, afraid to drive in the car, etc. So, it could be a nervous reaction to the med. I just don't know, and am unsure if I should use it again. It may be cold out here in the Northeast, but we are taking him on a trip to Florida next week, so it will be warm there. |

| i no longer use it as it didnt work for me. i hate putting the toxic stuff on them but it;s that or fleas. maybe he just doenst like the feeling. if it was bothering him internally i would think you'd see a symptom....vomiting, malase...........not eating...etc. has it been months since you applied a topical?

| Mine all hate it & will sulk loll...Mimi & Turbo tolerates it but Momo & Princess will run away & hide. I also have to hold Momo & Princess after the application bc they will rub themselves all over their bed. I personally don't like using it, but since we have flea problems year round here in CA, have to use it & it works for us (once every 3 months for maintenance).

| I just skipped one month. If I'm going to put it on him again, I'll have to do it tomorrow. I just gave him a bath on Saturday, and he goes to the groomer on Friday. |

Gee, maybe that is part of the problem. I do believe he is skinny. You can feel his hips and backbone. He has dry dog food 24/7. We've been dropping a bit of chicken, turkey, or even shredded cheese on it to get him to eat more. That seems to be working. | |

| Zhoie hates it too, she will scurry away to her house. I started using a half tube in her and it works well for us....just a thought.

| My dogs also did this. I applied it to my own skin to see what the fuss is about, and holy hell, it burns. Never again. I now use a Khakibos, Rooibos, Chamomile and Rosemary dip with their bath every week, and Diatomaceous earth in the house. No more flea problems and no more crazy itchy behaviour.

| You should wait three days after a bath before applying any topical flea med for it to work properly. The skin has to have a certain amount of natural oil in it for the med to spread around as it should. If you use it right after a bath it will not be effective. If you don't have a tick problem maybe try using a product that does not contain the additional tick medication. At least it is one less med to have to deal with especially for a tiny dog. Advantage II has worked well for my little girl. |

| I only use Frontline if we are going out of town. The two 5lb girls share a tube,1/2 each. Two of the boys weigh 6lbs and they share a tube. My 13lb dog gets a hole tube. I dont like putting this stuff on the furbabys so I dont do it unless they will be spending time out of their own yard (that gets sprayed once a year by DH). |

| I use frontline and although my dogs are not necessarily afraid of it, they run the other way when they see me with it! LOL Once it's on they are ok, but my Dexter gets sick for a day or two after I put it on him. I started splitting an application between both dogs and making it go 6 weeks instead of 4. This seemed to work and he's more comfortable with it now. Also, it's a wet feeling and dogs will try to dry off by running around and rubbing on things to get the wet off. Could that be what your pup was doing?

| I use Revolution but no matter - that stuff burns, that's why they run around like crazy trying to get it off. The dosage should be based on their weight. I don't ever put the entire tube on my dogs either. |

| I use k9 Advantix II for Sophie every month along with Heartguard Plus and she acts the same way. Rolling around trying to get it off and low growling showing her displeasure. It only lasts for about two or three minutes and she's fine again. She actually loves the Heartguard (treat ). We have a large deer population here so I use it twelve months to guard against ticks. She hasn't had a flea or tick since we began with these products (knock on wood)

| I did not realize that stuff burns. I will put some on my skin the next time I get it. Wow!!! That does explain alot. But I use it for a tick preventive. Thanks for the info. |
