| It won't effect the hair quality, it helps to get the ears to stand up by taking the weight of the hair off them

| The ear size is gong to depend on what the genetic background is. Some breeders are trying to keep a medium sized ear but some breeders don't pay much attention to things like that. You don't have to have your puppy's ears shaved if you don't want it done. If your pup's ears are already up and seem to be pretty strong then you may want to leave some fur on them especially if it gets cold where you are. Some pups do need the extra help of having the top part of the ears shaved. |

| I think might be the fur tat is holding the ear's weight, if not try massaging the ears of ur pup, this might work. |

| I'm located in Singapore, and it is not easy to find a pure yorkshire here, most of'em grown up to be a silky terrier, does all of ur yorkies have pedigree certs? |

| I'd say those ears look lowset, one is very floppy and both probably tend to flop is the reason they shaved the whole ear and not just the top 1/3rd. They could still stand or flop. Hair looks a little short and coarse on the head - has it been trimmed? The pup might not be purebred but it is very cute. Tibbe is purebred but a poor example of the breed so that's no guarantee you will get a wonderful example from the pure lineage. When I am looking for a puppy that I think might turn out to have good ears, I look for small, thin ear leathers and highset ears.

| I'm not sure about the teething part. However, you might need to reset them. Cut a piece of thick paper (like a manilla folder) and shape it, then place it on the ears and anchor them together for a few days and give the pup a break. See if that helps. Might need to do it several times, but eventually they should stand if they did before. Shaving the hair (if you haven't done so) will aid in keeping them up.
