I'd say those ears look lowset, one is very floppy and both probably tend to flop is the reason they shaved the whole ear and not just the top 1/3rd. They could still stand or flop. Hair looks a little short and coarse on the head - has it been trimmed? The pup might not be purebred but it is very cute. Tibbe is purebred but a poor example of the breed so that's no guarantee you will get a wonderful example from the pure lineage. When I am looking for a puppy that I think might turn out to have good ears, I look for small, thin ear leathers and highset ears.
