YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Cars/Heat and DOGS = DEATH Okay we have the first butthead of the Summer, who left their dog in a parking lot, while they shopped for three hours - just north of Toronto in Vaughan. Passerby's saw the dog was in trouble, got the fire dept out, but UNFORTUNATELY it was too late for the dog!!!!! The dog died A couple has been brought in to the police station. Charges are pending against one or both. Idiots Idiots Idiots A car's temperature can easily triple what the outside temperature is, particularly when parked in the sun, and with very little air flow through.

| Idiots. It's 90 degrees here and I guarantee some fool will leave their dog in the car. Way back when - I was a manager at an insurance call center. Some folks called in to make a claim for the damage done to the interior of their vehicle - CAUSED BY THEIR OWN DOG WHO CLAWED UP THE ENTIRE CAR - FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE AND WHO DIED IN THE HEAT OF THE CAR. And - Yep - dog died and they reported a claim to their insurance to fix the inside of their car. We were all speechless!

| I honestly believe people do this on purpose...for whatever reason. There are continual messages on TV...on the news, in advertisements, public service messages, etc for people NOT to leave their kids or pets locked in a car in the summer....and they continue to do it. People CAN NOT POSSIBLY BE THIS STUPID!!!! I am certain they are intentionally doing this! It does not require the sense God gave a pi$$ant, to realize how hot a closed up car gets, sitting in the sun, in a parking lot, or even in the shade....yes sir...they are doing this intentionally. |

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | I just reread what I wrote, make that left their dog in a "car" in a parking lot. Oh and my other favourite is, although not so bad it is bad enough, hot day let's walk the dog to the store; tie the dog up outside in the "sun" with no water, while they go inside an A/C cafe to have a cup of java. I don't care if it is 8am in the morning - if it is 80 degrees out and humid you dog can get heat exhaustion. Oh and btw this cafe had out door seating under umbrellas, with a Dog water bowl set up with iced water in it, and a convenient pole beside the water dish.

| Many times when I climb in my own car after it's been sitting closed up in the sun, and the force of the heat hits me as I try to get it in & get it started to get the windows down and the AC blowing, I think about the people that do that to their dogs and what an absolutely horrific way to die it must be to literally cook from the inside out. I'd like to strap those people in a hot oven myself...

| I do not understand how stupid people can be. I would love to lock people like that in a police car which has no handles on the inside to get out.

| This makes me SOOOO angry!!! People know better, there is no way that anyone can say that they didn't think it was dangerous to leave their dog in the car. Perhaps a more severe punishment would make these tools consider their decision about safety because it's clear that their dogs life isn't a big enough moitivator!

YT 1000 Club Member | We hear of the event quite often, but... I think a greater impact would be had, if there was some information beyond just hearing that the Police took the owners to the Station. If there would be some statement of just what happened to the Owners, stating they were Fined, Incarcerated, put to death () would have a much greater impact on a possible offender. If they were to be made aware of just how much trouble they could get into, that may deter "some" infractions.
