Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | We give Katie Scarlett the nursery water from Wal Mart. It's like 78 cents for a gallon. We buy like one of those every 3 weeks to a month. I had read on here where some said it helped with those eye boogies that Yorkies get. I think it really has helped Katie Scarlett. She had bad eye boogies every morning when we got her and since she started on the nursery water they are itty bitty every morning when we do our grooming.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Most tap water is fine, some puppies have trouble with minerals in tap water and this may cause eye tearing so people use distilled water with the minerals taken out. Of course, you should looks for distilled water that is safe for drinking, because some is not. I’m not in favor of taking minerals out of the diet long-term, so after most dogs have stopped teething they can go back to tap water. Most bottle water is just regular tap water that has been filtered and studies show that it isn’t as safe as once thought, some has very high levels of bacteria. Have you considered a filter for your tap water? Most filters take out chlorine, a substance that kills bacteria, but can leave water tasting a little funny, and some take out chloride as well, and other chemicals as well. If your tap water is safe for you, it’s safe for your dogs.

| I always use tap water for myself and my dogs. The only time I don't use tap water is when I'm visiting family with well water. Then I'll use bottled water.

| We don't have access to city water and all we have is a well. We don't drink it and neither do my babies. They drink nursery water and we drink bottled spring water.

| If the water is okay for you to drink, it's okay for the dog to drink. If it's not okay for you, then give the dog whatever you do drink. |

| I'd say if you're fine with pouring a glass and drinking it room temperature, go for it. Personally I give my dog bottled water. |

| What is well water? I don't like the taste if our tap water here, but I have drank it before when I had mi choice, like in a hotel room and I don't have any bottles. I have noticed that tap in different areas taste a little different. I remember the tap in Oregon was really nice and clean tasting. |

Our farm has been in DH family for over 200 years and there is a hand dug well up at the barns that is about 50ft deep and is lined all the way up with river rock. IDK how in the world they dug that thing and lined it all those years ago, before there was machinery. It is fed from a natural spring underground and the water is ice cold and clear as a bell.
