| Another "Is this a Yorkie" post My groomer just told me that Lucy is not a Yorkie. I know that some Yorkies are black and gold, and I know that not everyone's baby's ears stand up, but I never thought for a minute that she might not be a Yorkie. Lucy is only 6 pounds. If she isn't a Yorkie, what is she? If she is a mix, what do you think she is mixed with? I adore this little girl so much. She is one of the most lovely and special things in my life. You were all so right in urging me to adopt and fix her up. She gets healthier and more wonderful every day. We are so bonded now (like peas and carrots). I'll love her no matter what she is, but darn, does this mean I'm not a Yorkie mommy? I don't want to leave my new YT friends.

| If your groomer does not recognize a yorkie when she sees one, perhaps she needs another occupation! Yes, Lucy is a yorkie! She is totally precious!

| Don't listen to your groomer- she looks ALL Yorkie! Every Yorkie looks different... there's a lot not standard, etc, etc. She is adorable and we don't want you to leave YT!!!

| I think she is Yorkie...some breeders use breeding stock that is not quite the best ...not anything negative against your little Lucy...but perhaps the breeder used a male or female with flop ears...soft coat etc...these are faults..and all dogs have faults. |

| Lucy certainly looks like a Yorkie to me, and a mighty pretty one at that. Your groomer must not have good eyes:

| I agree, YorkieRose! I've known from day one that Lucy didn't come from the best breeding stock. Geez, I knew that from all the medical issues we've had to fix. I'm still learning about breed standards, and I can clearly see that she doesn't look like some of the beautiful show dogs folks have in their avatars. She's a hot mess, but she's my little hot mess, and well, mamas always think their little baby is the most beautiful baby in the whole wide world - floppy ears and all! Thanks for the input! So glad I don't have to turn in our membership. We like it here too much to leave.

| Little Lucy is a beautiful Yorkie! And we are all glad you are here. My Rosie's ears are not up all the time, and Gracie's ears are. Both are AKC Yorkies. They are all different.

| She definitely looks Yorkie to me, I have a westie that is now over 11 yrs old and one ear never stood up. But that means nothing to me. She is 100% mine and I would love her if both her ears didn't stand up. Your Yorkie is gorgeous!!
