Default ignorant apartment people

I moved to a luxury 3 bedroom apartment (so the sign says) my problem every day me or my son picks up on average 5 piles of turd a day not counting ours. This is one of my biggest pet peves there is 50.00 fine for not picking it up but you have to catch them I know theres always a pig or two but this is ridiculous if I catch someone I might just slap the person. I have to remind myself love thy neighbor but my fantasy is one good slap in the head. Im mean really its just gross.

It bothers me to no end to see people leave their dogs messes! Really how hard is it to bend over, and pick up that pile?? Some people are just careless and don't give a ratts butt about anyone other than themselves. Its ridiculous!!!

Yikes, the apartment I lived in while I was in the states had a fine as well, and people were pretty good about cleaning up after their pets. Except the people with the little dogs...That one always got me, here I am bending over to pick up a lab mix pile (and it was a pile that weighed about as much as Rizzo) 2x a day, and I see a woman walking her chi leave behind everything. My lab got the runs one day, and boy was that fun to pick up after.
There was one family that would keep their little min-pin on their patio all day long (and this was in Tucson), when I noticed they didn't have any water out there I went strait to the managers office. They fined the person for leaving the pet out on the balcony, but I don't know if they got reported for the animal cruelty. I thought they were crazy for leaving their little pup on the first floor balcony. If I had a mind to I could have stolen their dog and they wouldn't have even noticed...until of course they bothered to give the poor thing water.

I usually see 6 or more piles when I walk the gang and there is the "poop" ordinance. We always scoop da poop. Classic is the lady who was walking their big dog while riding a bike. They left the plastic bag on someone yard. Needless to say the neighbor was very mad.

I'm the "rude" lady who walks up and hands someone a potty bag if they don't have one...then point out to them the city even provides them at the entrance to all public parks and trails-they are even biodegradable! It's not only just nasty but risks the health of other people and animals! We have a hefty city fine for not picking it up...I voted for it and the city provided biodegradable bags in accordance with other city regulations...

Dealing with neighbors in a shared yard where you would have to be on watch to see who it was would drive me crazy! Been there before but myself and another were the only ones with dogs and the yard maintenance guy actually noted I always carried bags...I guess I was lucky they received an eviction notice, penalty fines and on their second chance figured out they needed to pick up pooh...prior to that though I have to say I went down the Dollar tree and bought them a couple boxes of potty pick up bags...I'm "rude" like that hoping they'd get the hint that way...putting the bag boxes on their porch...

I use these though...but it was the point they even have them for a dollar a box....I left the receipt in the bag.

Concretegurl--you remind me of my Dad. When we moved to VA, my Dad is the type of person who kept his yard immaculate. One of the neighbors dog kept coming in our yard and pooping. One day, he picked it up, put it in a bag, rang their doorbell and when they answered it handed them the bag. Needless to say, they never would come to a BBQ at our house...LOL

Gypsyqueen--I am sorry you are going through this but I did giggle out loud when I read your statement highlighted in red above. Report the problem to the main office.(if they are not already made aware by the groundskeeper).

Yep! I have the same problem too, I live in a really nice apartment complex on 2 lakes and its the perfect area for dog walking....except there is more dog poop than goose poop! Our community even provides bags at specific trashcans so people will pick up the poop! Sigh....

No matter where I have lived, I have always had the same problem. In the city, I had to dodge piles right in the middle of the sidewalk. Here, there is always some on the grass. Thankfully, no one here seems to leave it on the sidewalks, so I just don't walk my kiddos on the grass here. I keep them on the road or sidewalks and they get to play in grass at my parents house or at the park.

I will never understand WHY people get dogs if they are too lazy to take care of the necessary things required to own a dog. No dog is all cute and cuddles all the time, sometimes it is necessary to deal with poop, pee, and puke. If you can't handle the three P's, dogs are NOT for you.

LOL, the three Ps!! Great rule.

I have neighbors who carry their doggy treats in poop bags to give the appearance that they pick up after their dogs. My neighborhood is relatively small and an enclosed loop, and yet people have no shame about not taking care of their dogs' business. There are dog piles about every 2 feet on our walks.

It just occured to me that some apartment complexes will fine you for not picking up poop. If the main office or manager is not doing anything about the problem, then turn the tables. Tell them you are going to call the city and report the unsanitary conditions on their property. See if they don't step up to the plate then. I mean you are paying rent and I am sure that groundskeep is apart of what you are paying rent for.

I don't know just a thought! I really don't know if the City will step in but it couldn't hurt to try

It's because of these slobs that most apartment building do not allow dogs. If more people were decent there would be alot more places that people with dogs would be able to move into.

I love it, 3 P's...well okay I don't love it...but nice saying. I feel exactly the same way as you...no one is required to have any pet, its a choice people make...
I feel the same about people having kids though too...the 3 P's part especially! Sometimes kids just magically appear though...and they're so much harder to re-home
Maximo, I'd be freaking out posting up on the front lawn...seriously that sounds so gross. It's harder if you have no land lord but thankfully there are often city ordinances...
