| A little confused...looking for some info. My Hubby and I have truly been blessed with our beautiful "fur children" Valentino and Lolita. We couldn't possibly love those two darlings any more than we already do Recently, we have started to talk about expanding our family and adding one more fur baby to our family and I have a question... I have been researching both here on YT and on the internet...but there is so much contrasting info that I am hoping someone here can help me out. What is the difference between a parti yorkie and a biewer terrier??? They are both georgous and I enjoy seeing the pictures members here post. But, I'd love to get all the information I can so we can make a good decision about what would be best for our family. Thanks!

| You might try reading here: Parti Yorkies - Snow Blue Yorkshire Terriers She has compiled a lot of information and her YT member name is Breezeway. She can help you weed through the difference or the sameness , depending on who you ask. Just keep in mind that Parti's can be registered with AKC but cannot be shown. YTCA says they should not be bred. Biewers cannot be registered with AKC at this time, but can be registered in other venues.

No Longer a Member | All I can say is do your research, Yes the Parti color yorkie is AKC registered and the Biewer is not. Both are tri colored yorkies. The Biewer lines are inbred alot so if you don't watch, you can end up with alot of problems. Some of Parti color yorkies are not inbred,. if you do your research and get one from a reputable breeder. It all amounts to the breeder, please research and buy from a reputable breeder. Last edited by Breezeaway; 01-01-2011 at 10:37 PM. |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Biewers have the same health concerns as yorkies. I know a couple of reputable breeders in your area that would welcome meeting you and address any concerns. Also in Reading, this March, there is a NAKC show held in conjunction with the pet expo that many biewer breeders attend and participate. Would love to introduce you to our breed.

| I have both Biewers and Partis and if you are wondering which would be better for your family.. I don't believe, based on my experience, you will notice a difference. If you are looking specifically to breed or want specifically an AKC registered dog or one you can show.. then you would tend to lean one way or the other, but strictly for a family pet.. both are magnificant and I would recommend find a good breeder FIRST, one that you trust, is open with you and you have a connection with, then find your furry friend.. you won't be sorry with either "brand".. | Without question, finding a reputable, ethical, responsible breeder is of utmost importance in our decision to add another pup to our family. I guess the real question I was having was more with the genetic differences. There is A LOT of conflicting information available regarding genetic makeup of the both biewers and partis...and different breeders who have varying opinnions and breeding practices with these genetic lines. I am hoping to get the most info I can so I can make a good decision and find a happy, healthy pup we can spoil and love ...just like we do Valentino and Lolita
