| belly bands He will get use to them in no time. I say to my Maltese Romeo, Come let Mom put your pants on, he just walks right over to me and stands and waits for me to hook him up.I ask the vet, why when he was fixed when he was a puppy, why is he still marking? she said no mater fixed or not some males still mark because they still have hormones. Good luck

| Belly Bands Thank goodness for belly bands, I have 3 boys and they all wear them now, they were hesistant at first to walk with them on, Poor Mooshe my oldest thought mommy was nuts and he wouldnt move, had to resort to bribery with liver treats. Takes a few days to get used to them. Just make sure to clean their genital area several times a day when you change the pads or remove the bands, they can get urine burns next to their skin. I use baby wipe ups works well. Good luck let me know if I can help with any other questions |

| i have a ? about belly bands how do they work for tiny males when the private area is so close to their back legs? Is there someone who makes them with a curve or something so they fit closer to the hip area under neath? Thanks, Brandy

I'm a firm believer in belly bands. I am fortunate that he doesn't need to wear one all the time. I guess all the "good boy" and treats taught him it pays to potty outside.

| Toby is a rescue as well.....................he's my special little buddy. I've never in my life had a dog as devoted as he is. He is constantly on my heels. Right now we are dealing with LP and it's making me crazy because he won't slow down. So the vet slowed him down starting today. He's on a sedative so we can hopefully get this little guy all better so he doesn't have to have surgery. It's a shame we can't tell them we are doing these unpleasant things for their own good. But he got a lot of GOOD rest today. His eyes looked so sad and glassy. But now that he's come out of it, he wanted to play and I had to tell him no. He gave me a look that broke my heart but I stood my ground. $12 worth of sedative is a heck of a lot cheaper than $1,200 worth of surgery! Who knows, maybe this will slow him down a little bit permanently (in my dreams!) PLUS mean ole mom has cut his food intake to a total of a 1/2 cup a day and down to 1-2 treats a day. That's what's making him give me the dirty looks I'm sure. LOL But when we got him in December he weiged 8 lbs and he's up to 11. They say that extra pressure can make their LP act up. So keep your fingers and toes crossed that the sedatives keep him calm for the next week and he's back to normal.

YT 1000 Club Member | I hope Toby gets better and is able to get off the sedatives. Mine dont slow down either. Charlie just wet his belly band was wouldn't move so I changed it and washed his gential area...He really didn't like that but it was a life saver. What kind of pads is the best to use? |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Ohhh, poor Toby. Will he take green beans or carrots as treats? He can have quite a few of those for snacks without adding in too many calories. They'll make him feel full too, so he won't be as upset by the lack of food in his bowl.

My husband said he barked non-stop for almost an hour today while I was gone. Poor little guy............too bad he doesn't realize I'm crating him for his own good. But again, he is walking more normal today. Toby will eat anything! I am going to get some canned carrots (low sodium). I do have some canned green beans but there is so much sodium in canned vegetables I think I'll get a small bag of frozen green beans (like SteamFresh) and cook them in the microwave and keep them in the fridge for him. I have cut way back on treats (they only get 1-2 itty bitty buddy biscuits a day now.) He's not liking that and neither is Speedy. But they both need to lose weight. I thought about going back to Cheerios but I like the idea of the veggies better. I just dread leaving the house again now that he's calmed down and sleeping next to me in the recliner.
