Looking for a GOOD breeder in Silicon Valley/ Bay Area I am new to this forum and am looking for a GOOD AKC YT breeder. I am in the SF Bay Area. I heard of Collier Ranch in Sunnyvale and Elvis Blues in Fremont- anyone w/ any of their pups? I have owned a YT in the past and dearly miss him. Please let me know if you have any feedback.

I purchased a puppy from Collier Ranch and just love him. He is the sweetest most loving little guy. They showed me how to groom him and were very helpful, even after I took him home. My only dissapointment is that I received a letter from the AKC 8 months after I got him saying that they could not confirm his lineage and therefore he was no longer AKC certified. Aparently blood testing proved that his parents could not have come from the line they were claimed to have come from. I was willing to pay the $2000 they asked for him because the litter had AKC papers. I was quite shocked when the AKC rescinded his certification. He is now 17 months old, weighs 8 lb 13 oz and still has his black puppy coat. Last edited by wwells; 05-04-2010 at 01:21 PM.

Wow what a story, I'm sorry this happened to you, there are so many unscrupulous breeders. To the OP, I always recommend the YTCA for breeder referrals, call and talk to a few, and you will learn so much about the breed, and they will help you decide if the yorkie is a good match with your lifestyle. Don't rush the process, and sometimes you will need to go on a waiting list because they are not breeding merely to supply pets, but are actually trying to improve the breed. They often have beautiful examples of the breed that may have some tiny flaw and are placed in a pet home. Because they are not breeding as a business, they prices are very affordable, but you do have to pass stringent requirements as they are looking for permanent great homes for the offspring. Here's a link to breeder referrals. Yorkshire Terrier Club of America About The Club

Question Base on previous posts on Collier Ranch, does it mean that their dogs might not be AKC? But, were your puppy still healthy? Can you post some pics

| Wow this is sure a lot of newbies posting about a breeder recently the hot topic of several threads......coincidence so many new account just happen to been activated and jumped on this thread to post? Looks like someone called it right..."they" popped back up... READ THIS: No reputable breeder sells, breeds, or advertises "teacups" AKC or otherwise...but they seem to give out good advice on puppy care...well except from the link below about them selling sick pups: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sic...ccidiosis.html Here's a few more links about them... | Kelly Collier Collier Ranch She has no bounds to her lies and then makes wild accusations about her standing in the community. She runs several many smear campaigns one specifically against YT, the spca, humane society an against an anti-pup Mill site (they prefer not to be named pending litigation against her) because she purchase pup mill dogs from Ireland to breed and sell here. Collier Ranch claims they rescue dogs work with human society..all untrue. You cannot purchase a dog from a pup mill use it for breeding and claim that is rescuing. Kelly Collier and Karla Clippinger both run YTS on FB and run and slanderous campaign against me personally for posting it was sickening to breed 2 and 3 pound dogs (furthermore inbreeding) to produce pups that will mature under 1 pound...is that the kind of breeder anyone wants to work with or support? Please don not believe her claims or the reviews she post about herself online as a satisfied buyer-read her health department record, her spca violations and humane society claims and note the real discrepancies.

I just bought my yorkie from Collier Ranch Yorkies and they were all there in a home and none were tinies or unhealthy. I think the video on their site is from Korea. Maybe a mixed up identity.

Obviously...where do you assume anything was said about the video I posted about had anything to do with Collier Ranch until a day after the thread was posted on here....the thread was about the breeding practice to not only create "teacups" but beyond tiny "teacups" completely unnaturally occuring-breeding dogs under 2 and 3 pounds t and inbreeding apparently to create pup that will reach under 1 1/2 pounds at maturity and furthrmore trying to push that to a 1 pound maximum at maturity. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/general-yorkshire-terrier-discussion/224406-micro-mini-teacups-under-1-lb.html Google, YT, pms from people... I made the mistake of not believing what people had to say about Collier Ranch and I contacted them directly as a possible breeder...telling them I received a referral to them from a YT member (which I did-I forget who now though) anyways next thing I know my information is being passed out online I never assumed it had to do with them until I saw their post on a facebook page and received messages from people regarding them...later I'm apparently associated with people they have issue with, people I don't even know. Such a horrible experience actually peeked tonight with a slanderous attack against me, multiple messages, phone hang up calls-and all for what, because I made the mistake of not believing people and looking at and corresponding with CR. IMO it's not even worth giving them any benefit to find out for yourself what type of breeders they are. I'm literally atm receiving messages from CR telling me they never posted about me-when it's on their page-and on others signed, dated with time from them, the lack of ability to deal with reality and truth it is insane. I could go on more with the details but it's not even worth it-just don't waste your time considering.
