| Mad about Frontline! I have been splitting the small dose of Frontline between my 2 pups. One of the pups is fine with it and acts as if nothing has happened but my lil 3 lb pup goes absolutely mad. He screams & screetches and growls & gets himself all worked up...scraping his shoulders and such on the ground trying to get at the spot where the Frontline has been applied. He absolutely wears himself out til his tongue is hanging out from exhaustion. He will do this for about an hour. The first time I thought he was just being a crazy puppy but now I'm thinking that he may not react to it well and maybe his skin is super sensitive and it might be stinging him. Has anyone else had this experience? Did you switch to another form of flea control that didn't irritate your pup?

| Wow I have never had any issues like that.. other then mine seem to quiet down for a few hours and im not sure why..Someone told me its because the stuff gets absorbed into there bodies and they have to adjust, thats why its important to not give to strong a dose.. Does his skin look irritated where you apply it? If not maybe it just feels funny and it bugs him until its absorbed. Does he act that way when you apply shampoo ? |

| I bet it is burning. In humans, some are allergic to things that we don't even think twice about putting on our skin, it must be the same for furbabies. |

No it doesn't look irritated or red at all. And no, he is fine with shampoo. Maybe it's the smell, that may bug him. I'm not sure. I asked my vet about it once and she didn't seem too concerned but it is obvious that he hates it for one reason or another. He never screams like he does when the Frontline is on him. Poor guy.

| Bobby does this when I put advantage on him. I am not sure what is the problem. the vet said that it may be irritating him. He said to check the skin where you applied to see if it was red. It wasn't. I switched to Frontline for his last dose and it didnt seem to bother him as much. The vet also said that some babies don't like the smell or possibly they have fleas on them that are now moving and dying. |

I think you're right. I read the insert of info inside the box and this is what is says: Individual sensitivities, while rare, may occur after using any pesticide product. Pets may experience some temporary irritation at the site of product application. If signs persist, or become more severe within a few days of application, consult a vet immediately. If your pet has an unusual reaction to the initial application, consult a vet before repeating treatment. Hmmmmm......yes, I believe that applies to my Lil Jockey Boy.

| My girl did the same thing. I had been using Frontline for my Fox Terrier for years and had no problems. I put it on Lexilyn and she went crazy after about 5 minutes, rolling, scratching, etc. I thought maybe she wasn't used to it so I tried it again the next month. Same reaction. I switched both of my dogs to the pill "Comfortis" and have had no reactions. They've been on it about 4 months now. My vet has had nothing but good reviews on it. If anyone has heard differently please let me know.

| Harley has this reaction with frontline too, but he also does it when he gets a bath, or gets sprayed with detangler or "doggy cologne", so I believe his is more of a reaction to anything wet. I did however apply it late in the evening once and he didn't sleep well at all that night. Could have been coincidence, but I think they may feel it spreading on their bodies. Jeri and Harley |

| A flea and tick remedy that I have heard a lot about, and have just started our baby on is garlic pills. We bought the "bug off garlic" from Springtime Springtime Inc., All Natural Supplements for Horses, Dogs, and People, Chondroitin sulfate, Glucosamine HCL, MSM, Vitamin C, Bioflavonoids, Biotin, Kelp, Dog Chewables, Minerals, Remedies, Herbal supplements, daily nutrients, joint health, anti-infla. It came highly recommended from several other people we know who swear by the effectiveness. |

| Dezi did this when I put Advantix on her. The poor thing went through this for over a week. She itched and scratched in her sleep even! I felt so bad. I did try to spread the dose over more area and she just scratched over her whole body instead. My old vet said it was the tick meds and the plain Advantage just for fleas shouldn't do it. I switched and she was fine. I had to use Frontline for this past dose and although she didn't itch, she didn't seem right. My new vet insisted on tick control and actually doesn't carry Advantage, only Advantix and I won't ever use it again. I also read the pesticide is assimilated through the stomach and intestine before it is passed out of their body and she has so many digestive issues, I don't know if I'll use any of these next flea season.

| All these flea and tick chemicals are part of the reasons dogs are having major health problems and cancers. I would not be using them at all. These types of things, like commercial foods and treats, are nothing but a money making ploy. There are too many all natural things that repel fleas and ticks to be using deadly chemicals.

| I've used advantage and frontline on both Lucie and Duke (Duke is 12lbs Lucie is close to 3lbs) and neither of them have reacted like that to either product. Maybe you should ask your vet about it..

| I use frontline , Shayna is the only one that act like your boy, but only last few minutes and she is fine, hubby think is the high amount of alcohol on it, we have use other products, like advantage and the other one forgot the name and doesn't seems to bother them that much, I use it because we are out a lot in meetups, walking, etc and none of my girls never had a flea well that I have seen it, only Phoebe had a thick couple of times one in her ears and the other time in her neck but that is it, thank God they have their Lyme vaccine and the tick was just regular thicks is what the vet said not the lyme carriers, do what is has work for you
