| That's what I have been told about P.J. too. I think it is just another one of those terms that they use like teacup, tiny toy, etc. When I purchased P.J., both terms were used - baby doll face and teacup. Since, I am going for the "smaller size" yorkies, that's what I desired. But as for the desirability of the entire breed itself, I am not positive. I have heard that people charge more for when those desciptions are used. |

| The person who sold me Luca Dean also used the "babydoll face" term. the AKC standard does call for a short muzzle and ears that stand up straight instead of out (like bat ears). Any yorkie looks like a babydoll to me, but I guess breeders use it as a way of making the puppy sound special. She didn't call my yorkie a teacup though!!! She said, "His brother was smaller, but he didn't have the babydoll face and his coat wasn't as pretty." She sold Luca Dean's brother for $275 more nonetheless, because he was smaller. Other breeders may have sold Luca Dean for more because he comes closer to the standard than his brother ever would have -- coat, size, proper muzzle, etc. |

| faces A babydoll face is a very short, pushed in muzzle..the correct Yorkie head is terrier as opposed to a doll face..but they are so cute...usually a doll face is found on a smaller Yorkie. |

| My breeder told me there are three types of faces...bear, baby doll and wolf. I have seen too many wolf Yorkies and knew I didn't want that one. I'm not really sure of the difference between bear and baby doll because my baby doll looks like a little teddy bear! So who knows? |

| Jackson and his face undefinedJackson does have a baby-doll face. I don't think he is considered a small yorkie as his latest weight is 5.7 lbs at 6 mos. Hw has a short muzzle and I have seen the other type with the long muzzle which does not appeal to me as much- just p ersonal preference. |

| Lily Belle is said to have a BabyDoll Face -- I didn't pay extra for it, but my breeder sure was quick to point it out. I think the BabyDoll refers to their short muzzle -- not the breed standard, but desirable nonetheless.

| Dont laugh......."how about a monkey face?" Now I never heard of this term but a breeder I bought a dog off used this term. I asked if the muzzle was long or short, and she replied "well to best describe the face of my dogs is a "monkey face" I said "WHat?" Then I got laughing cause it struck me funny. SHe laughed it up too. You know I went and viewed her dogs and bought three, thru a couple years.. ONe without a monkey face......lol. She isnt computer savvy so she doesnt frequent forums, etc.........but the lady is a hoot! You know they do have a look of those tiny monkeys to them. TIny boned and really to short of a muzzle....but they are cuties! I like their look alot, their my favorite. I just had to share this with you.....still makes me smile to think of that conversation. |

| While still looking for a yorkie pup, I have run into that term so much. Usually priced higher for the 'babydoll' face. I cannot tell a big difference between the babydoll and teddybear faces. I guess I'll have to wait til Milo is a grown up to see what kind of face he'll have.

| Babydoll and price I paid the going rate in NY which is $1800. Jackson has a very short muzzle and I had almost bought a different Yorkie, from another breeder, that had the long muzzle, and he wanted only $700 (also from NY). He claimed they were bred in Ireland by a vet who happens to also be his daughter. I think it was a scam. My kids said the Yorkie looked like a toy Airedale! I like the babydoll face, but my breeder said show standard is the longer muzzle! |
