| I thought Haruka was going to be killed.... Today I was at Harvard Square taking a walk with Haruka... my bf wanted to go to a clothing store. So Haruka sat still by the door, and I was standing there. All the sudden, there was a puppy that looks like a fox and at least 5 times bigger than Haruka came close to us from the left of us. I grabbed the leash to make it short.. and this owner pulled his dog away. Before we know it, this dog grabbed Haruka and jumped started sharing her as he might do that to his toy. I guess I screamed (I was told afterwords...how loud I was) I was freaking out. I rescued her from the dog. Then the family (the owner... a guy, a woman, and a child) started walking away. I was very upset and I told them to stop!!! A woman and a child left the scene, and I kept asking the guy to stop until they stopped. There were many people then. People at store.. I guess they heard my beautiful scream.. so my bf came out too. I asked him to take his name and phone number. The guy said that the dog was vaccinated... I asked my bf to take care of it.. and I guess he took his phone number but didn't ask for his ID (which I asked!!!!) I went to pad the dog to calm him down because I felt that it wasn't his fault but it was the owner's fault. Then he said "do you want to take a chance? you shouldn't risk it..." and he said "your dog seems to be fine.." So I told him that "I don't take a risk letting you go just like that." Then my tears blasted after the guy left. Everyone was looking. I cried so hard... in the middle of the popular area.... Haruka seems like nothing happened.... she started walking with her tail up and trying to meet different dogs... I was so glad... I never really get mad about dogs' bad behaviors... This is actually second time she got jumped by dogs. First time was at yorkie meet-up. I don't really blame the dogs.... I actually feel bad for the dogs of having aggressive behaviors. I also wouldn't feel bad if the owners apologized. Both times owners pretended like nothing was their fault. I hate that. I would have felt differently if this guy came to me and apologized and gave me his card or something... That is something I would have done to others... I was traumatized than Haruka was. She is happy as always... She seemed to be satisfied with the walk. When this dog grabbed her and jumped and started shaking her.. I really felt that she would be badly injured or die... it was like watching an Animal Planet... It was so cruel. I also asked my bf not to watch the animal planet about wild animal any more. I sometimes grab Haruka by her top of the neck.. like a cat since she is really tiny... So I think she didn't get freaked out at all... Haruka seemed to be more worried about me. Haruka and I are definitely adventurous but we are very careful about walking around the city. Today was just so crazy.

| In Boston, we have a yorkie meet-up... Everyone should have the common understanding for safety. It is at DoggieDay indoor. So it is off-leash. And one time there was a yorkie (maybe like 7 lb?) jumped and bit her. Since then Haruka is scared of yorkie meet-up there. Even we tried little yorkie meet-up.. she seems to be scared. She was such a friendly yorkie.. Now she can play with a few dogs.. but when there are multiple of them, she hides.

| It just happened a couple hours ago. We took this guy's phone number. I have checked her and she seems to be okay. But I will watch her closely.

| I am so happy Haruka is ok!!!!!!!!! unfortunately I did'nt have that luck. I was mommy to Muffin, Tinker, Sami and Muffin's 5 week old puppies (2 boys, 1 girl) when we let muffin, tinker and sami out to go potty before we went to bed 5 weeks ago. We heard this horrible shriek, my husband ran outside and scooped muffin and tink up. we're not sure if it was a possum or coyote who got muffin but we could not revive her (and believe me we tried so hard!!)15 minutes after Muffin passed, Tinker passed. The vet said he was probably scared to death because he was not harmed by the animal and the little guy had a strong heart! 2day i'm left with a huge hole in my heart w/grief, but i have muffins 10wk Gracie and sweet Sami. |

| Oh i am glad she is okay... just always be careful with any big dogs in general... same thing happened to princess at a yorkie meet up.. another yorkie bit her ear and wouldnt let go.. princess was crying out as i was freaking out and the owner put his dog on time out and that was it.. he didnt even apologize.. thats actually the reason why i wont take her to that particular meet up again.. i know ppl might think im overdoing it but im just annoyed that these people didnt say or do anything (and i think they were one of the creators of the group) |

| my yorkie has gotten into fights. it doesnt suprise me that your yorkie has gotten attacked. things are going on that you cant see. im not sure about your yorkie, but ill talk about mine. he is very dominant and self secure. he is not afraid of anything, from mastiffs, great danes, to pits, rotts, pomeranians, nothing scares him. when another dominant dog comes by there can be issues as neither is willing to be submissive. this can lead to an outbreak. yorkies in general are dominant dogs, because the breed was bred to not fear diving into tiny black wholes to fight beasts larger then them and come out alive. thankfully, my larger dog is a peace keeper, whenever my yorkie gets into trouble, our big dog can save the day. like when loki (our yorkie) got picked up and tossed in the air and caught by a greyhound (yes, yorkies move like rabbits and retired greyhounds go crazy, fyi) and my large dog was able to tackle the grayhound and loki escaped unharmed. also, when a pitbull tried to dominate loki, loki bit his nose (the dog was rude and pushing him around) but the pit picked up my 4.5 lb loki and was growling (this was now vicious) odin (the large pup) tackled the pit and loki was saved, again unscathed. of course, seperating the pit was harder, as it was not trained and now very pissed off. but no one was injured. this all happened at dog parks. edit* i generally find large dogs (rotts, mastiffs, danes, etc) are awesome with my terrier, its smaller dogs, about 65lbs and under where we get most problems (pits in general, although he is best friends with a beautiful blue nose pit) and other small dogs yorkies especially, we get dominance issues. which lead to fights. I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | michiko, I so glad Haruka, is ok, she must know how to completely relax when being shaked. I just read about someone else who's outcome was not so good. I'll bet your pretty shaken up too. I would be devasted if my dog did that to someone's dog, and I can't believe these people acted that way. I think it's probably best to carry these little ones in crowded places. Quote:

| Oh my gosh how scary for you and Haruka! I can see it not being the dogs total fault either, but my gosh how on EARTH could the owner not even stop to see if your baby was ok let alone say he was sorry? That is so rude! I know how busy Harvard Square is because I used to live very close and shopped there all the time, but don't feel bad for crying -- those people should have been ashamed of themselves for leaving that way and acting so rudely . I am so glad your baby is ok and that you can feel better about this soon! |

My Little Man! Donating Member | Oh how scary! I am glad Haruka is ok! Shame on that owner! Whenever the dogs try to attack, the owner has to fix it because that is their responsibility! Unfortunately there will be always people who dont know how to handle their dogs. I am so sorry that happened to you and Haruka! Wow its a little bit scary when that happens on meetups! I stopped going to dog runs where I live but I love going in NYC, thats where we had the yorkie meetup and you came there a week early because you had to leave to Boston. Unfortunately in Staten Island dog runs have weird owners who dont know how to handle their dogs and I dont want to have any part of it
