my yorkie has gotten into fights.

it doesnt suprise me that your yorkie has gotten attacked. things are going on that you cant see. im not sure about your yorkie, but ill talk about mine. he is very dominant and self secure. he is not afraid of anything, from mastiffs, great danes, to pits, rotts, pomeranians, nothing scares him. when another dominant dog comes by there can be issues as neither is willing to be submissive. this can lead to an outbreak. yorkies in general are dominant dogs, because the breed was bred to not fear diving into tiny black wholes to fight beasts larger then them and come out alive.

thankfully, my larger dog is a peace keeper, whenever my yorkie gets into trouble, our big dog can save the day. like when loki (our yorkie) got picked up and tossed in the air and caught by a greyhound (yes, yorkies move like rabbits and retired greyhounds go crazy, fyi) and my large dog was able to tackle the grayhound and loki escaped unharmed.

also, when a pitbull tried to dominate loki, loki bit his nose (the dog was rude and pushing him around) but the pit picked up my 4.5 lb loki and was growling (this was now vicious) odin (the large pup) tackled the pit and loki was saved, again unscathed. of course, seperating the pit was harder, as it was not trained and now very pissed off. but no one was injured.

this all happened at dog parks.

edit* i generally find large dogs (rotts, mastiffs, danes, etc) are awesome with my terrier, its smaller dogs, about 65lbs and under where we get most problems (pits in general, although he is best friends with a beautiful blue nose pit) and other small dogs yorkies especially, we get dominance issues. which lead to fights.
