Too Late for my baby's ears to stand?? YAAAAAH!! I got my new baby girl last night, we are so excited, she is sooo adorable. I got her for only $500 because her ears were floppy... Is it too late to try to tape her ears to make them stand? She is already 15 weeks old. She is still cute with her flopped ears and I will certainly still love her if they do not come up, but I just love the pointy ears, please let me know what I can do or if it's too late to make them stand

not too late... It is never too late really. I just had a client come in with a two year old yorkie. The ears were "floppy" and down. She wanted then cut very short. They stood up as soon as I clipped most of the hair off. The owner was so happy! Just shave (or have your groomer shave) the entire ear, inside and our as clos as possible with a grooming clipper and if at all possible a #40 blade. Your groomer will know what thet means, lol. I hope this helps. Sue & Cricket

| If shaving doesn't work you can tape them up, she may be teething and sometimes they come down, my vet told me to tape like a taco, if that makes sense, and leave it up for about 4 to 5 days. If they start to go down again tape them again. My Jasmine left ear has about drove me crazy, so I just gave up, but I tape it flat for a couple of days and now its back up.

You can also try taping the ears. After shaving the ears, fold the ear like a taco and put a piece of freezer tape on them and then connect the two ears with a piece of freezer tape. Leave the tape on for 1 or two days then take it off. If the ears are not up then repeat. Good luck.

I thought maybe the tape stabilized the ear so that cartilage could strengthen and hold them up? My suggestion is to tape them also. Hope it works for your baby.

I heard that you can also massage the ear from the base up to help it stand. Not sure if it is true but you can always try!

Its def not too late. I just trimmed the hair on Meeko's ears and they popped up by the next morning, and his ears are big! He was 4.5 months then. Soo you might not even have to tape them. Has her ears popped up yet?
