BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | Tips & Tricks Please! OK YT'ers I need your help! "Reeses" and I are trying to get the YT Cook Book done asap so we can send it to ADMIN to get it approved and send it to the printers! One of the pages will be a "Tips & Tricks" page. Please list any tips or tricks that you have. I will start... A tip I have used and works great is: When one of my babies is misbehaving or begging, I simply take a small metal bowl and a metal spoon and bang the spoon to the bowl. The sound sends then running away. All I have to do is show them the bowl and say "go lay down" and they go right to their bed. |

| Here's one tip I've recently figured out If you use washable pee pads, use a DIFFERENT detergent than you use on everything else. (I use the "free and clear" type, along with bleach and a vinegar rinse). This will cut down on them having accidents on bedding and throw rugs, as they will start to associate a certain smell with the pads and will only go there.

| The best tip I have to offer is our babies pretty much understand one word commands : So instead of saying Bleu Boy come here to me You would simlpy say: COME Instead of saying Bleu Boy sit down: Number one there are 2 command words sit and down so you only use one .. This is the easiest one to get mixed up on. You either are working on sit or you are working on down. Once your baby does what your command is you follow with the word GOOD... Good Come Good Sit Good Shake Good Roll Over.. Do not do a bunch of praising.. Praise using the command word followed by the word "GOOD" NEVER SAY GOOD BOY OR GOOD BLEU BOY One word commands followed by the word Good .. They will confuse their name.. They only associate one thing at a time Also if you are training your baby on sitting .. You say sit and (he she does not do it) count to 10 and say sit again .. give them time to respond.. It will amaze you they will respond but their minds are not as fast as ours and always remember they are not being hard headed they want to please you ... It just takes them time to comprehend... Say the command in reps of 3 Always train in same location (preferably tight closed location so their only focus is you ) Always use the same treat. The key here is repetition! Hope this was not too long you can narrow it if you like or if it is not what you are looking for you do not have to use it! Vicki

| To keep your yorkie at a healthy weight, give one small treat at a time instead of a handful. Use the treats as a reward and not just "because".

| When we had puppies I got a roll of heavy duty plastic 6 mils. thick in the paint section at Home Depot. I cut it a little larger then the exercise pen. Blankets on top on one side and pee pads on the other for easy clean up. Later on it can be used under pee pads and when it gets dirty just throw away and custom cut a new piece. On the bed I buy a good waterproof mattress cover at Linens and Things it has plastic against the mattress and cotton on the top. Hubby does not even know and it is comfortable to sleep on. I do not have to worry if a furbaby gets sick or a mistake happens. My expensive mattress is safe and dry and I just throw everything in the washer.
