Skittish? Gizmo seems to be very skittish lately? I have no idea why? There has not been any type of change to what we do with him... he has always been around loud noises since he was little.... We take him to the races with us and LOVES it.... Is there something I can do to help him not be soo afraid? He is a all around very social dog.. He's almost 3 yrs old.. loves cats and dogs all sizes... and people.. especially kids.. we don't have any small children in the house it is just hubby and myself.. but it feels like as he gets older he has become more skiddish? Any ideas?

Just curious, has he had any vaccinations lately. Behavioral changes and fearfulness have been linked to vaccinations. Sometimes it takes months for these changes to surface. I hope he starts feeling better.

That could very possible be it: Potential Baytril Medication Side Effects and Drug Interactions As with most pet medication, there are some possible side effects with baytril. In dogs, rare, but potential side effects include, but are not limited to, gastrointestinal issues such as diarrhea or vomiting, elevated liver enzymes, seizures, depression and nervousness are also possible. http://www.discountpetmedicines.com/...antibiotic.htm I hope he gets back to normal soon.

It is a funny thing about all medications and vaccinations in that there are risks of side effects. I have seen puppies that were social and outgoing and then after their vaccinations I see them become withdrawn and standoffish. Hopefully his behavior is temporary. You might look at getting a good doggy antioxidant to help cleanse his system.

There are many kinds out there but I would start by looking here: http://search.onlynaturalpet.com/?se...ntioxidant-dog Giving dogs annual vaccinations can really compromise their immune system and antioxidants can help strengthen the immune system. This website talks about the dangers of vaccinations: http://www.deide.net/misc.html
