| poopie poopie Every morning i am waking up to the same thing. My young puppy is pooping in his crate. He is only about 10 weeks old now. The breeder told us to leave him a food and water bowl in there at all times. how can i stop him from pooping in his crate? What am i doing wrong? He also has a bed, that i washed many times, and 2 toys, also underneath everything is a puppy pad (made by simple solution). Please help me!!! What have you used with your puppy or puppies that has worked? |

| Not an expert Hi, I'm FAR from an expert, but I'll tell you what I was told...1. if the puppy came from a pet store they are more likely to eliminate in their crate since that's what they did there, and 2. the crate should not be too big for your puppy b/c then he might poop in a corner. It's pretty ironic that I am telling you this b/c I bought my puppy (3 months old) a huge play pen that looks like a fenced in area for when I go to work. I didn't/couldn't leave her in a crate for hours. I figured I'd buy this huge play area, put her bed and food on one side, and a pee pad on the other so she could go in there...and she doesn't go!!! You want yours to stop going, and I want mine to start. Isn't that funny? Maybe some of you have any ideas on how to get her to go while I'm not home.

| I would take the food and water out of the crate. make a place where he can eat and poop away from where he sleeps. unfortuantly yorkies at that age are very small so even the smallest crates have to much room. you may want to try the ones with the divider. I dont use crates except for sleeping at night. durning the first few weeks when i would wake up at night for my bathroom break, I would take my boy out to potty also. there we no accidents (at least in the crate Ü) and slowly I strated letting him hold it til the morning. hope this helps.
