| Travel Plastic Type Crates/ or Wire Crates Ok I'm bringing Bella home next week. I have a wire type crate now but was wondering if I should use it, or the plastic type crate. Which do you feel is better and why. Thanks for your help! |

| I like both but the Plastic ones do tend to be more comforting to a frightened pup. They are more like a den. You can always cover the wire one to help too though. |

| I have always had plastic ones. They do seem to be a more comforting environment, to me anyway. But to be fair, i have never tried the other kind.

| Mine always get sick in the plastic pet taxi's, but never in the wire crate...covered or uncovered. I think it's because the sleep in them at night and are in there if I have to leave for any reason so they are use to them.

Totally off from the two, but just to give you a thought for the future. I also have a soft style, almost like a plastic one just softer like a duffel bag. I use that for travels. The newest puppy goes into it on his own and sleeps in it when I have it out. They seem to feel less constrained and can also see around them through the mesh. It is hard to see in, but they can see out. It is soft all around so they even look more comfy. But, in my opinion I think the answer is what you feel the best with. It is all based on preference and I dont think that you can go wrong. Best of luck bringing Bella home!

YT 2000 Club Member | I have both. I use the plastic one to take Jeter to his vet or if we go on rides. His wire one is what I used at night to potty train him because it had a divider that I could make a smaller area. Once he was potty trained, I took it out and I have it in my living room with the door opened so if he wants in he can get in. So I use both of mine depending on what we are doing.

They are reasonable too! We bought Camden's off of Amazon for $21 since Petsmart didn't have the pink one in stock anymore! It's the Petmate Kennel Cab.

Our Blessings R Many Donating Member | We have the 3 mid size plastic, one for each of our girls, but use the smaller size for Prairie Bea in the car. What size are you getting for Bella? Sooooooooo happy for you and your family, Bella is darling. By the way where did you find the pink crate? Lexi we are so thankful the shots are helping you and look forward to many, many pictures of precious Bella. Hugs, Patti and Jack and girls. |
