| Beware of www.fondarosa.com Fonda Vandiver First I will give you a little history. This breeder was recommended to me by who I thought was a friend.(not a yorkietalk member by the way) This third party( not ready to give this name yet) and I had spoke many times. The person is a show breeder, and I had alot of respect for them. If they said something I believed them, they had gained my trust thru many, many conversations and meeting them once at a show. I really felt they had my best interest in mind. I thought this person was my mentor. One day I got a phone call that this person's long time good friend, show breeder of 30+ yrs had two older AKc champion sired females they were willing to release with open registration to a good home. They were offering them to ME and I was completely thrilled!!! This was my oppurtunity to try to improve my dogs outward/cosmetic appearance and this person knew that, because we had talked many times at length about it. I felt I was being entrusted with many yrs of careful breeding. I felt honored. I felt more compelled to do the right thing more then ever. I asked for the breeder's address to send the deposit money, but my friend told me to send it to their house. And I did, never even questioned it. I had a deposit on the girls for over 2 months. After about a month of sending the deposit I asked for the breeders phone number, I wanted a picture, more info, I was excited.................but my so called friend acted like it was top secret.............and I was still an idiot! One day I got a phone call from my friend, that the two girls breeder wanted to know when I was picking them up........she wanted to go on vacation. I said I will make arrangements ASAP for the drive ..............and I did. ...........I was told they wouldnt be ready until 2 weeks later but I didnt question it, they wanted them picked up. I felt I was lucky. I stayed local, thought I met my mentor, thought I had met the right people. Its been over 3 months now, and all I get is a song and dance.......or another excuse.........or another sickness. Or no contact. I first posted on this in September........see this thread http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...=upset+breeder Im the 13th post down in that thread, this tells of my day there ..........then about a week ago I posted just the breeders name and I would like to apolize for the vagueness of that post...... But now you can read the whole story except the very end. What would you do? |

| Kelly, Did you ever receive your dogs? Or did they just keep your deposit without letting you come pick-up the dogs and finish paying for them?

| Fishy ordeal Kelly, First off, I am so sorry that some people can be so rotten. The entire ordeal sounded fishy from the beginning. There were too many obstacles and barriers. I know your heart and good nature did not allow you to think your friend would do something like that. I too have had my fair share of so called reputable breeders. Funny thing, (no offense to anyone please) that the breeders that have lots my trust have been so called 'show breeder' and were on the YTCA page. My point.........I know not everyone is the same and it would not be fair for me to say otherwise. I surely would need to meet every single breeder in the world first. BUT, take this as a lesson. Things happen for a reason, and if it is meant to happen........it will! I feel in my heart that the DNA issues are not going to be resolved. You have waited patiently and it's a matter of the principle involved. I would pursue this and definitely do whatever you can to get her on the suspended breeder's list. Lastly, thank you for being a wonderful, caring, kind, and excellent breeder yourself. I could not be any more happier with you and your pup. I want to thank you for the amazing communication you have had with me and continue to do so. You may not be a 'show breeder' but guess what? I would pick you any day over many of the ones I have met. Thank you for being a humble, down-to-earth lady, and for doing what you do. Thank you for giving the opportunity to those of us who are not wealthy, don't live in a mansion, don't show dogs, weren't born knowing everything about yorkies, and don't breed. Thank you for not having a 'holier than thou' attitude and thank you for being a REAL person and breeder I can trust. I know you go to sleep with a clean conscious at night too. I pray this gets resolved for you. Hugs, Jess

| Thank you Jessy. I know Im not totally blameless in this. Right before we left I was told their was a DNa problem, that would be cleared up quickly. So I had the oppurtunity to hand back the girls and was told my friend knew about it too. I have found out the problem existed two months before when I sent a deposit also. I guess after 2 months of waiting and sending a deposit, saving up for the girls, getting a babysitter, my hubby taking off work, driving 4 1/2 hrs, then waiting an additional 4 hrs even after I confirmed it was ok to come at that time, I didnt want to drive 4 1/2 hrs back empty handed. So I was a complete mush melon head. After waking up the next day with a sinking feeling. I called my friend and asked them "why didnt you tell me there was problem?" Their reply "I didnt think it was my place to tell you" I didnt even have contact info on the breeder for petes sake. It was like it was a big secret. When I think back on this, hindsight is 20/20.......boy was I dumb!!! Its like I had big blinders on. Im not looking for sympathy. I just needed to get this off my chest, and hope to prevent this from happening to someone else. I felt I needed to post about this. I probably should have said something earlier........but I just hate this kind of turmoil and finger pointing. If the finger was being pointed at me for this kind of thing I would be completely devastated and couldnt sleep at night. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | oh wow - I can see why you're upset - I would be too - First I wouldn't have dealt thru someone other than the breeder - that 'friend' sounded like she was brokering them - and 2nd - REPORT the Breeder - she's committing fraud by saying they'll have papers but hold off on the little mishap - that sucks and shouldn't happen - When you spend the kind of money yorkies cost - you should get your papers if that's what you were promised. and you said she had a herd of dogs ?? that doesn't sound good either - ALL THE BEST TO YOU - I hope you get this resolved but it's a shame there are so many deadbeat breeders out there - They're great when they want your money - but sometimes that's where the relationship ends - |

| Villette, Your right as rain. Couldnt deny it if I wanted too. I KNEW BETTER. Thats what makes it even harder because Im not without fault. I had good intentions and never even thought as my friend as a broker...but now......that was exactly how it was... I guess I looked at it as a experienced breeder trying to help me improve. The thought of it being a broker transaction never even entered my mind then.......but it certainly has now. |

but knowing what you know now & from what you said - she sure sounds like a middleman and probably kept something for herself - and she sure didn't do you any favors judging from that post you did when you went to get the girls - I would have been crying.....that sounds awful to get that pumped and then go thru all that and THEN no papers when that's what you were wanting ? Talk about a bad experience....the upside is ...they're healthy so I guess it could be worse right ?? Hugs to you - I just want to SMACK all the people involved - (not you though LOL ) !!! I just wish some of these so called breeders would realize our HEARTS are involved with these sales - They see the cash - we see a brand new addition to our lives that we want to love. | |

No Kelly NONE of this is your fault! You had a dream and you thought your mentor was going to help you make it come true. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that! I will say that I was in the same situation that you were a few years ago. I had purchased a very nice champion sired male for show. I paid for him and brought him home. He was beautiful and I was so excited! After I returned home with him I realized that I did not have his AKC papers and I had been so excited when I arrived to bring him home that I had forgotten about his AKC papers. I called his breeder and she told me at that time she was not 100% sure that the particular male she said was his sire was indeed his sire. That was the beginning of June and it took me until the following end of February to finally receive his papers with the proper sire. Needless to say the male that was suppose to be his sire was NOT! I pray this works out for you and I am sorry that you have had to endure such heartache. BY the way her daughter is also a breeder in Florida have you tried to contact her about the situation? Just maybe she could help. Here is the link to her website and I believe her name is Mary Lou. http://www.jendasyorkies.com/

| Thank you for sharing your experience Yorkiekisses. Thats what I dont get about people. Mistakes can happen, thats not the point its owning up to them. Such as in your case, why werent you told that before you took the dog home. ........the only reason I could see is to make the sale and get the money in thier hands. Thats how I feel about my experience. My friend had many oppurtunities to tell me the situation about the papers. It was all about getting the money. I really hoped when I called the day after picking up the girls they would say IM SO SORRY I didnt know there was a problem but instead I got I didnt feel it was my place to tell you. ARGH!!!! ........And Jessy you are such a wonderful person, wise beyond your years and have a positive uplifting way about you! Thanks I needed that girL! Your kindness loyalty and support is like a warm coat in winter. At the last minute I was told their was a problem with the papers and I chose to take the girls home, but I was also told the problem would be resolved within the month. So that is my fault...........I did have an oppurtunity to stop.........that would have been the wise thing to do. .......And I wish I could say Yes but they are in good health! I noticed that there was quite a bit of tartar build up on one of the girls teeth, but what I failed to know was fher back teeth were so bad she would come down with a systemic infection from it that made her seriously ill. She had two rochephin shots, blood work, and is just now finishing a round of Baytril anitbiotics to clear the infection, then I have to schedule to have teeth removed they are so bad. You know that poor girl has been in pain. My vet had told me her teeth were going to need some work soon, but I/he didnt realize how bad they were, it wasnt just tartar they are rotten. But on the upside SHE feels better, tons better!!!!!! This has definitely been a valuable learning experience to say the least. I really dont know how this wil turn out and if this sweet girl should ever be bred again. |

| Kelly, you have a good heart! May God Bless you Kelly for taking such good care of your little girls, I am glad a responsible breeder got the two little girls, I know how heartbreaking it is to be sold a puppy that has bad teeth, puppy's should NOT have bad teeth!!!! Thank the Lord she is in your hands and heart, they are so much more than just a piece of paper. Sadly, when we get these little heart breakers, it is an additional expense, to get them back in shape, I have been there and spent a fourtune on bad puppies from irresponsible breeders, I could have sent them back, got my money back, but i choose to keep them, help them, and make them a member of my family, they have a life time home here filled with love and compassion, I learned a lot of lessons the hard way, and have had my heart broken many times on the condition i have received these puppies in, I will spend every dime i have to help them have a long, healthy, and happy home here! I am a responsible breeder, half of my dogs are my pets and the other half are in my breeding program, I have learned many lessons from these little fur babies and how important it is to have pedigree you can trace back, and be sure you are not breeding any bad genes into your precious little babies that did not ask to come into this world, it is the responsibility of every breeder out their to breed HEALTHY, well adjusted yorkies, that will look like the vission of a yorkie when they get older. I am sooooooooooooooo in love with this breed and will do everything in my power to breed the best yorkies i possibly can and keep the interigty of the yorkshire terrrier alive, filled with the spark of love and compassion they have for their owners, and produce sound, healthy, well adjusted, babies that will give their new forever famileys a lifetime of unconditional love! Good luck with your little girls, they are lucky to have you for their mommy!! God Bless all of You!!!!!!! |
