Yorkie Yakker | Puppy sale contract Hello, I am searching for a new contract to use with my current litter. I would like a clause with buy back rights if the owner can not care for the dog and no breeding rights. I have not been able to find anything that is a strong contract. Please let me know where you found yours. Thank you!! |

| I took no chances....I hired a lawyer to come up with my contract....it cost me a substantial amount of money, but it is solid and essentially covers all bases. I took about 8 good strong contracts to my lawyer, told him to incorporate them into one strong, invincible contract, and he did. Like everything else Yorkie, it costs big bucks to get it done right. My new owners do not get papers on their puppy until it is spay/neutered....they see the papers I will be sending to them when they send me proof of spay/neuter. | I keep an attorney on retainer, and have done so for many years, "just in case" I need one. Being in a sue happy society, where people actually make a living suing businesses and individuals that are perceived to have a source of finances, you really need to protect yourself and your assets.....he can advise you on separating your business and your personal income, so someone that decides to sue you, does not get access to every dime you have in your business as well as your personal finances. It will be a lot better to have access to a good lawyer and then not need him, than to not have one, and find yourself up to your neck in law suits from some person who lives from year to year off proceeds he makes from TAXFREE lawsuits against fast food restaurants, car washers, grocery stores, yard men, home improvement people, etc, etc, etc.... |

Senior Yorkie Talker | Puppy Contract Inquiry Hello breeders, Although I am new here, and I don't have a puppy as of yet, I am uneducated to a point, on what the big deal is here for a baby to be spayed or neutered. I know about the health and well being. Seems to me that breeders are also worried about others carrying their blood line further. Why is that a big issue? Is it just about the money factor , and I get the work and time that goes with it. But , wouldn't you want to have the blood line carried. Seems to me that $ plays a large roll in that issue. Once again not educated fully in this area. Have no means to show or breed a puppy when I get one. I also mean no disrespect in my inquiry. Just seems to me that finding a good solid home where the puppy will be loved should be of the out most importance more than anything else. Thanks very much. |

The large number of dogs at animal rescues shows that the public at large are not responsible when it comes to owning pets. Each year, there are so many dogs euthanized because there aren't enough funds to keep them alive. Vancouver, BC has rescued so many dogs from California kill-shelters over the past years. Not to mention, there is an over population of dogs in general, everywhere. So, that in itself is the reason why all pet-dogs should be spayed/neutered.

The Homeless Dog ProblemThis is why we shouldn't breed our pet-dogs.

| I also have one myself... I just looked for different contracts online & then just put it all together... I am currently giving limited registrations, however I have a breach of contract amount that I would sue for or attempt to reposses the puppy. Send me a PM & Ill send you what I have.

Spay an neuter is a different issue. You could sell on a non breeding contract - but there is probably little you can do to enforce that non breeding aspect.
