| Wow! What an interesting thread! I had some "ah-ha!" moments, and some sad ones, and even a few LOL ones. I had to laugh that this breeder totally told on herself, after the OP didn't name her. What will happen next? Only time will tell. Oh, and Wylie'smom? You are brilliant!

| Yea, I also find it funny when they crawl out of the woodwork and have viewed the site for so long, but never post until this!!!!HAHA Was it just me or did this honest person make a boo boo when she stated she bought a puppy from this breeder, then in the next paragraph, this breeder, so concerned for the way a YT'r treated this kind soul GAVE her a puppy.... Oh, please come back,,, I can always use a good laugh after a hard day!!!!!LOL Perhaps instead of warning us not to pass judgement on someone doing very questionable practices, you should be warning HER not to phone breeders and give her lifes history and business practices out....perhaps she should save that for you when you visit her again!!! Does anybody else find it odd that a woman who re-sales rescues for $100 - $2000 would give a complete stranger a free puppy just out of the blue and the kindness of their hearts? I'm sorry, I just really find that hard to believe. Not that I don't think that there are good people out there. But this just seems suspect to me. And as I have been reading this 11 pg thread, my own sweet Cricket is sitting on my chest (her favorite nap place) licking my neck and earlobe telling me she loves me the bestest! And it saddens me that someone would use a rescue in such a deplorable way....

| Almost duped too I am fairly new to this forum too. Just reading the post about the breeder who is selling just to sell is sickening. My husband and I were looking to add another yorkie to our family so we went surfing the web this passed weekend. We found this add in the recycler who was giving away the yorkie for free! So out of curiosity, we emailed back inquiring about the ad. We received a response the following day. It sounded legit based on the email we received. The owner was asking questions about what we did, if we travelled a lot, how would we care for the dog, etc. We emailed back with answers to the questions. A few hours later, we received a response again this time this person was saying that we needed to send a $150 "transfer of AKC papers fee" and that he/she would pay for the flight of the dog and whatever else. He/she asked for our address, phone#, what airport we're close to, and that we send pictures periodically so he/she can see that their dog was being taken cared of. Well, this was when we got skeptical and emailed this person back relaying the message of "we just want to make sure this was not a scam" so we asked for other suggestions before we send the money. Never heard back from this person since yesterday. I just think it's so sad and sickening how people take advantage of situations liks this! |

| Is it just me, or do all these 1 and 2 post newbies "smell" like Melissa disguising herself by creating a bunch of fake screen names? With the exception of Mollys Mum (Parker) all of them are suspiciously from Ca just saying

Scammers are very good at what they do so ALWAYS ask questions and never send money via Western Union especially for some made up fee. I believe most sellers (legit) don't pick up the shipping - that's on your end....) personally I'd never have a puppy shipped but know others have and it's worked out. I'm just not one of those people unless I had LOTS of dealings with them (like someone on here with a good track record) You're better off networking with legit breeders - there's plenty out there that are honest - maybe not with the best puppies - but if you're looking for a pet only - try to make connections with people that have proven results and customers that you can talk to.....you never know who you're dealing with these days unless you do lots of research.

| Wow! Way to go to welcome someone who is completely new to this forum yorkielover4lif. Though I completely understand your skepticism, I can assure you that my husband and I are not what you call "fakes". We have a beautiful Yorkie and her name is Kiwi. We've had her since she was 8 weeks old. Now she is 7yo. We were simply looking to add to our family. We shared the post because we recently experienced a scam this passed weekend. After reading several posts here, we thought it would be informative to share what we went through recently. Thank God whoever that scammer was didn't get anything from us. We don't have any information as to who this person was because we found the ad in the recycler and communicated that way. If only my husband could remember what the screen name was we can probably share this information here as well. |

| I bought from this breeder.............. Actually that is not true.....First let me say I had no idea this site existed until I received a text message from the breeder asking me to log on here and tell everyone that I know her and her family personally and that she was a good person and a great breeder (I kept the text, just to cover myself, no slander) I text'd her back stating that I was not willing to do it because I infact do NOT know her and her family personally, here is my story............ As a military person I was in training and gone from home, at the time I had a beautiful maltese girl that we bought from a pet store in the mall in Escondido, my girl got out and got pregnant while I was gone. I AM NOT A BREEDER, nor did i want to become one. Boo (my girl) gave birth to 4 little puppies, who looked like maltese, I rehomed two of them to people I worked with but was sort of left with two others and didnt know what to do. Also let me say that after giving birth my girl turned mean, she started snapping at my son, my husband and i were pretty upset. I received a call from the Temecula breeder who asked me to bring the puppies to her to look at, we did. She asked us to "trade" our puppies for a yorkie, sounds silly, but we had a yorkie who was stolen from us in Hawaii 5 years ago two days after xmas, my family was wrecked, she was 6! We saw the yorkie and fell IN LOVE, we said yes. About two weeks later she called us to let us know one of the puppies died, and she wanted a replacement, I was beside myself, she wanted her yorkie back which we had fell in love with by that time, I said "sorry but no" she started quoting the bible to me and telling me her business was not doing well, i told her my maltese boo and the yorkie were not getting along and that boo;s personality had changed and i wasnt sure how to handle it and thought of rehoming her, she said she would take her in her home as a pet (PET!!) As weird as i sounds, we were happy to find her a home - NO MONEY EXCHANGED HANDS..... Last week I received a text stating "your yorkie is a year and a half now, let me breed her" She stated that she lost a lot of her dogs to some STD, and that her business has suffered, I felt bad but I text'd "no my husband and I do not want to breed her, she's so little, but thank you" The next text was SO MEAN, she told me I wasn't saved and just flipped out on me..............I am still upset. She also then told me she had my female maltese "fixed and sold for $100" Many, many mistakes made on my part, many! But I am really upset about this whole situation and probably should not blog about it but i get the feeling I have not heard the end of this and basically I do not know how to handle this, again I AM NOT A BREEDER, I am just someone who loves yorkies and fell in love with the one I have as soon as i seen her because she reminded me of the one we lost. I since found out that the other puppy I gave her died, she claims they were genetic defects which I cannot dispute because I don't know enough, but I do know that the other two whom I rehomed with my co-workers are happy and healthy. I know I sound like a fool which I am not, but my behavior was foolish............I get that now. The person who blogged regarding the home, I have been there, and yes there are no kennels, the dogs run in the backyard. Today my baby is 18 months old, I think...........I was never given papers. Everything I am saying are just facts, as foolish as they make me sounds. I do believe she has a good heart, but I do not want to be harrased either. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | jaysmart - I can't say I followed your post as I haven't really been involved in all this but just want to tell you what you said was HONEST and sounds like you have a good heart....can't say the same for whoever you dealt with. you said she lost alot of dogs to an STD ? Are you serious ? That's just shameful and speaks volumes about any breeder that could let that happen..... how sad for the dogs..... I admit to being lost with the many posts (don't have time to read all of them) but to me every thing I read screams BAD breeder. If you can call this 'breeding' - sounds more the word should be dog 'SELLER' - All the best to you and anyone else who has to deal with this kind of c**p. People who take advantage of others need to take a loooong look in the mirror - course they may not see a reflection but still..... |

She might be lying to you about the puppy dying. At any rate if she wanted to come back on you she should have had an autopsy showing why the puppy died. That is what I would tell her if she contacts you again.
