my 7 days old vida is not feeding from mom vida is 7 days old, yesterday she cried most of the day and became quite weak, took her to the vet and he said that she was dehidrated and probably ill..that there was nothing to do but wait at night for the worst .. my wife and myself did not give up and began to feed her water with sugar in her mouth .. then we saw some prgress and during the night i prepared a litle of baby formula NAN HA.. the only thing i have available quickly .. and she made it to today .. i am feeding her 1,5cc every 4 hours .. i cannot find puppy formula here, nor goat milk, nor condensated milk.. my only resource is baby formula .. HA is for hypoalergenic babies .. can i contyinue feeding her this for tonight until i can get a hold of a more proper substitute? she will not feed from her mom .. i do not know why she stopped ...

Keep feeding her every 2 hours and try and put her with her mom. Keep her warm..That real important.....Puppy nutrical is also good. Tke her mammas teet in your hand and rub it against her mouth and side of mouth excreting milk. She should latch on...KEEP trying and dont give up, but a warm body and full tummy will keep her going....Let us know..Lissette

are you sure its her tummy that's making noise and not her lungs? You have to be real careful when feeding a pup this young, and never feed a cold pup, always make sure its warm before feeding. you also will need to help it pee and poo. if momma dog is not doing this, or she will get constipated. take a wet warm cotton ball or cloth and gently rub her bottom until he/she goes. don't rub to hard. the baby formula might be to hard on her tummy. the vet should of had some puppy milk you could use.but mommas milk is always best. did the vet check its mouth to make sure it didn't have a cleft pallet ?

| I've never heard of anyone using baby formula for a pup. I would think it's too rich for their system. She probably can't digest it. If she can't digest it, you're probably doing more harm than good. Don't they have pet stores or supermarkets where you live? Most pet stores carry a milk replacement and (at least in the U.S.) supermarkets carry goat's milk. Really, the best thing is to try to get her to nurse. She should be fed every 2 hours and never feed a cold baby. Keep her warm. If you absolutely cannot get a puppy formula or goats milk at the store, call an emergency vet and they will have something. At this point, you may do better to just give her a little sugar water for a couple of feedings to see if she can clear out the baby formula. Also, burp her to relieve the gas and if Mom isn't cleaning her, stimulate her bottom and privates with a small damp cloth to help her go potty. If you can get the canned goat's milk, dilute it...use 1 part water to 1 part goat's milk.

The baby formulaa iss why she is cramping. You must stop that immediately. Is there nothing at all in your area for puppies. You also have to watch about putting fluid in her lumgs as you feed her. has she just stopped nursing or is mama pushing her away/ there are ways to get her back to nursing mama if mama has milk. Please leet us know this morning how she is and feel free to pm me. I am a breeder.

Thank you to all .. vida died.. I would like to thanks everyone for their advice and concern .. unfortunatelly my vida died ... I am angered at the vet who prescribed a strong atibiotic to the mom and this afected the milk, then i fed her baby formula as an emergency for one night... she made it two more days very weak and difficult, started giving her puppy formula which I found from a friends vet ... but her system was already affected by the antibiotic .. we are very sad ..but life goes on ... thank you again all ..
