Rolinn C Farm breeder in Lane,OK

Does anyone know anything about this breeder good or bad. I have checked the references he gave me and they were good but since this is my first puppy I'm a little scared because I don't know exactly what to look for. Any help with what to look for as well as breeder info will be appreciated.

First off, welcome to YT! You have come to a great place to look for the perfect little one.

A few things jump out at me. The have several breeds (not generally a good sign)--Yorkies, Poms, Chis and apprently they are crossing breeds as they have Yorkie-Pom section. The two adult Yorkies they show as stock (blog section) should have NEVER been bred...and when you can look at a pic and make a statement like that.... When you look at the pics of their kennel...it's nothing but a long row of small cages. On puppy find, it shows they have 13 pups available, 3 different breeds from at least 4 different litters.

And that is just from the little info they DO give. I would keep looking, but that is just my take on it.

Something is not right...they have puppies on Puppyfind for $600 and that includes shipping. So that means a puppy for about $350/400..think about it. Even the $800 includes shipping and that is too low.

PS...I take it back..I just looked at their stud...that seems a fair price for their puppies.

I don't know anything about the other breeders mentioned here, but I am well acquainted with Owens K9. My family has known Lloyd and Kathy Owens for years (since before I was born). They have bred Yorkies for many years; we go to her with all our dog questions. They are retired, and the Yorkies are Kathy's babies....which is why she doesn't charge an arm and a leg for them. This is her love and hobby, and vet costs, etc. are relatively inexpensive here, so she simply charges a reasonable price.

Feel free to pm me with any specific questions about them....I'm not trying to advertise for them, but wanted to post since I know them personally.

I can only give you my opinion based off what is on their site, which doesn't always give you the whole truth, but it will give you some suggestions on some things you'd DEFINATELY want to address.

With any breeder you are considering, check with the registries to see if there are any compaints against them. (There is a link to the AKC suspension list here.)

Regarding memesyorkies.com, some things that catch my attention are:
-a pup 'ready for adoption' at 8 1/2 weeks is way too early, the general age for placement that most respected breeders agree on is 12 weeks
-the pups are reg with different registries...I would question why
-the health guarantee does not cover luxating patellas--not life threatening, but it is often genetic and is not a trait that should have been passed on to the pups
There really isn't much info on that site to look at...no info on the parents, etc.

Regarding owensk9, the only thing I would question is the whole 'kennel' aspect. I question the benefits of dogs receiving the attention they need when the dogs are kept in cages in a kennel. But that is more just a personal view.

I can't really see the pedigrees well (blurry) for their dogs, but I think there is some Prestigeous in there--I *think* that she is a member here so you may be able to get some more info from her, if it is the same person.
Someone on here posted they have had some first hand experience with one of the breeders and offered to address specific questions for you.

Be sure to check the 'Breeder Review' section too--you may find something there on these or other breeders you are considering.
