| Thank You 107Barney :) LOVE my Washable Piddle Pads! My washable piddle pads arrived yesterday from T.Bumpkins. I am VERY impressed! They have a waterproof barrier on the back, absorbent layers in the middle & the cotton fabric on top is gorgeous! They feel thick, well made & very durable. The best part, is that they look stunning on my hardwood floors! My girl is a chewer. Magazines, notebooks, cardboard boxes, even my Allstate check for storm damage from Sandy!!!...and of course, piddle pads. I can't even explain how nice it is to come home & not have to see shredded white paper all over the floor & pull out the vacuum cleaner. For now, I have the washable pad over the disposable pad - a little over half of the disposable showing. They caught on very quickly I'm planning to shrink the disposable pad area as the week goes on...until they're solely using the washable. I will NEVER go back to disposables! I'm so excited that I can finally have guests over without having to hide and/or explain the piddle pad thing. I really don't know why I waited so long to order. YAY!!! Thank you 107Barney/T.Bumpkins

| I also just received washable pee pads from T. Bumpkins. I was extremely impressed with their quality and my puppy easily transitioned from paper to washable ones. I love the idea of washable pee pads - they are environmentally friendly, much cheaper than paper pads long-term, and hide pee stains way better than paper. Plus, they look adorable and fashionable in our apartment - you would never guess it's a pee pad. The pattern with martini glasses is my favorite, and I am ordering more with the goal of having one week worth of supply. Also, loving the discount for YT members! |

| I know! I'm going to check out the martini glasses fabric for my next set Glad to say that my pups have now fully transitioned to the washable pads & I no longer have a section of the old disposables peeking out. Yay!

| Is it hard to get them to use the cloth pee pads when they are used to the disposables? I really want to get away from disposable - just too dang expensive. I've already found 2 patterns I must have! lol Before I order, I just wanted to hear anyone's experiences with them..did you have to teach them to use them or did they just "know" by putting them in the spot they are used to? Thanks ETA: Okay, i was speed reading and missed the part where you put them half and half together and they caught on. Good idea!

| On Day 1, I left a little less than half of the disposable peeking out. I made the disposable area a little smaller everyday. Looking back at my thread, I see it took about 5 days to make the transition. And yes, I did put the washable pads in the same spot the disposables were. Since they already have their favorite spot to do their business, I didn't want to change that & make it more confusing for them. I have multiple throw rugs on my hardwood floors. So far, they haven't gone on any of those! I was really worried about that. I actually didn't think they'd take to the washable pads so quickly...but I'm glad they did! I don't use Nature's Miracle on them pre-wash. I use unscented laundry soap, no fabric softener, no dryer sheets. I was hoping that any potty scent would remain on them so they'd know that they are supposed to use them to go potty. I can't smell them myself (they don't stink like potty)...so I don't know if any of the scent actually stays on them. But the pups do use them...so I don't think I'll change the way I wash them. Although, the instructions that came with the pads say that you can add baking soda to the wash cycle. I might try that. I only bought 5 to start off with. But I'm going to order more after the holidays. They really have made a HUGE HUGE difference & I would HIGHLY recommend them

| I transitioned my puppy to washable pee pads in one day. She is about 5 months old, and throughout the day I keep her in her play-pen. I just put the washable pee pad over the disposable one in the usual spot (in the playpen) and watched the dog very closely. As soon as she peed on the pad, I praised her a lot and gave her a treat. The next day I just used washable pee pads. She did pee on my rug in the bathroom twice but my puppy is not fully potty trained yet. So that might be the reason. But she has been very good with carpeted flooring in the rest of my apartment. I wash and dry pee pads with my regular detergent and drier sheets. My question is where does everyone store their used pads until the next wash? I am trying to store them in the closet container but when I open this container it has extremely strong urine scent. |
