I don't think a smile box is necessary. I want to do a GE to have fun and buy stuff for others. I think the issue is people people joining a GE and having crazy picky expectations. It's sad that people don't want to do them anymore because of people like that.

it does seem like there is some drama associated with these but how bout we do this one expectation and drama free

lets just have fun with it! I'm still game if anyone else want to do it.

I only participated in the last one but it seemed pretty chill to me for the most part. One persons box was mis delivered (how sad!) and another was sent late, I beleive those were the two issues that generated some tension, the first one being resolved as soon as some personal messaging occurred. I am down for a drama free GE

I have never done a smilebox LOL. I've done "SWAPS"/ GE's on other boards before and it was suggested a dollar amount to spend, a ship by date and make sure you posted for thank yous.

So for this YT Spring GE we have about 6 people interested? Are we ready to commit? Maybe set a theme? 2 more people and we are good to go.

I had never done one on this site and that's why I wanted to do one. Thought it would be fun to connect with my YT friends.

I was reading the rules and it says you have to be a member for 3 months. I haven't done the donation yet. I just need to set up a Paypal account. I'm hoping I can participate. But if I qualify, I'm in.

By the time we get enough participants to qualify for a gift exchange, it will surely have been a complete three months from any point in January

I sure hope a couple more people want to participate- the other thread seemed to indicate a bit more interest ?

I think eight folks would have to intentionally express a commitment of interest and officially 'sign up', although several folks seemed interested on the other thread, they did not come forward to actively choose to participate when this thread arose. This could be due to a lack of awareness (though I posted a link I this thread on that one) or they could've not actually been willingly commited to participate. Perhaps you would pm the parties which expressed interest who are not involved in this thread? I'm afraid there has been a lot of discouraging discussion. I thought the last one went well

again, one lady (who came on recently to express how she felt) had some personal issues and didn't attend to her ge buddy, and the unattended ge buddy was (understandably) really hurt. That sucked. I don't think that is a typical issue.
