Participate in a GE? Hey, I am wanting to see if there are at least 8 people who would participate in a gift exchange? |
I was just reading that thread. I don't know if I can qualify but I would love to. I asked on the other thread, how do I donate? |
I'd be intrested. I've never done one before either but I've always wanted to try it |
Yes Taylor :) I am interested in participating. |
I just mentioned this a few days ago. I'm in. |
We are at four, come on ladies! Let's have a Gift exchange! |
to me one of the best parts of past Gift Exchanges was viewing the thank you smile boxes. I know they were never mandatory but most participants made them and I really enjoyed watching them. I can remember the first ones I saw (before I participated) actually brought a tear to my eye because of the sentiment and the thought that went into buying the gifts. I have not seen that in the last 3 or 4 gift exchanges, now I or others hardly even look at the thank you threads because viewing each picture is frankly to much work and time consuming, it is nothing like viewing a slide show with music and captions. Perhaps it's because people are posting more from their phones or tablets and making a smile box/slide show is hard to do that way, but regardless of the reason it's just not the same for me. Many people stay away because they don't want to spend a certain amount of money and not have that amount spent on them in return, but for me I don't really care what I receive, because I can buy what I want, I care more about the excitement on the end of the receiver, and of late the majority of receivers don't seem to put as much effort into the back end as they do to the front end. You don't have to take my word for it, just look at the thank you threads from GE's from 3 to 4 years ago compared to the last few and you will see what I mean |

I'd definitely consider participating. :). And I just want to say to anyone else that would like to participate. Do it for yourself, with no expectations in return. It's kind of like this, just because someone doesn't love you the way you want to be loved, doesn't mean they don't love you with everything they got. Personally, I don't mind looking at photos over a smile box. Smile boxes can be intimidating to some, I get that. If smile boxes are what it takes for a thank you, I'll happily help anyone with theirs. |

Hmmm...I know my thank you thread was ridiculously long with photo after photo because I couldn't turn it into a smilebox movie (I tried but I do use my phone because I don't have a real computer) and because I edited each one on smile box with the intent to make it a movie each post was a smile Box photo link. I imagined even as I posted them that it might be kind of annoying for people to open....but if anybody wants to go through the trouble, they are some darn cute pictures! All 42 of them ;) jk- okay, probably not 42... |
