![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Haha!!! You said the magic words! ![]() Ya know, I havent seen you on YT much and I don't know anything about your furkid. BUT lots of the veteren GE'rs are sitting this one out, so I think this GE is presenting a great opportunity to make NEW friendships. ![]() I'll start...hi, my name's Carmen and...*deep breath* I have an addiction to Hello Kitty. LOL But really, I reeeeally want to be in this GE. I was so sure I'd be in it and the lack of people participating kind of put me off. It doesnt have to be a bad thing though! Luma is begging me! For the sake of all those lonely, desolate HK products just waiting for their furever home...

I'm Heather! Zeus is my yorkie (2.5 years this December, adopted New Year's eve last year), Odysseus is my cat-dog (3 years in November) and Athena is my Bearded Dragon (1 year this last June). The BF completes our very happy family If you look at last GE, a lot of people signed up from the second-to-last day and up to 3(?) days past the deadline, so I have no doubt more will surely pop up!

| Hi wow so much discussion, I have been busy honing my sewing, embellishing and card making crafts so I have been MIA this weekend. Carmen I have not checked your thread in the sick section yet, but it sounds like Luma is doing better. LOL I think it was all the prayers I sent up to the big guy on her behalf. I really think that four gift exchanges are one or two many, so that's why participation has been dropping off. It seems like the smile boxes were all finally posted as the new GE was getting ready to start, IMHO that is just to close since anyone that participated is probably both wiped out and tapped out. Perhaps two a year or three max would boost participation, has anyone suggested that yet, and BTW who makes those kind of decisions, maybe a group vote is in order. I hope more will sign up at the last min, but only a few voiced interest so I guess we will see. I think most people spend more than the min, and I have never done a smile box, so Rhonda I know you sent me a link and but I still might need you to walk me through it via the phone, so I hope you will help me. I am really in it for the fun of getting lots of stuff, but not expensive stuff, just fun stuff to open for Lola. Sometimes I see such big and expensive gifts, but for me I would rather have lots of fun stuff and that is how I plan on shopping. LOL I guess I am quantity not quality type of girl, so cheap fun stuff is fine for me.

| To me I'm most excited about this GE and the next one. So I've been really back and forth about which one I want to do...or if I could handle both. I have so many ideas for this GE! I love this time of year. Luma was born in January so it will be her first xmas ![]() Ps yes Luma is better!!!! She's bouncing off the walls at the moment. (Just had a bath). We're gonna sign back up tomorrow or the next day. I've been very busy!

We adopted Zeus on New Year's Eve last year, so this is also a special one for us! ![]() Glad to hear that she's feeling better! The thought of getting a box full of fun and awesome stuff should be the final push into full health

Donna, I guess you and I are total opposites on this issue. I would rather receive (and give) one singular well thought out gift that is wanted/needed/appreciated than to add to the clutter of someones home (or my own) with random items just to fill a box. I do, purchase a few "fillers" as well, but the box I like to create contains a few special items that let the receiver know that I was so very happy to send a personalized box to them. The boxes I have received, were likewise, filled with love. The dollar amount was never an issue, but in general the items that "wowed" were either homemade or purchased from a quality vendor. The quilts from Shinja or the people sack from Rhonda (made by Sherry), the fleece blankets Rhonda made for us, or the Gingham dress from Michelle and her beautiful rag quilts as well or the little personalized bumble bee dress or even the laundry bag to hold my used potty pads designed for me by Cathy were all so special to me. If the boxes only contained that one item, I would have felt loved because these women took the time to find out about me and what makes us happy. I know we are all different and that's what makes the GE special, just a different perspective

| Lisa I don't think we are so different, I love seeing all the special hand made thoughtful stuff, that is my favorite part, and to be honest I can't even think of one big thing I really need, LOL if I need it I buy it. But on some of the exchanges I saw items that may have cost as much as $75.00, if I bought an item like that for someone I would not have much money left over to buy anything else. I have been lining up vendors and window shopping and even getting crafty trying my best to think of personal things to get someone that will not break the bank but will make it possible to buy them many things. LOL if you are in the GE please don't think I am a cheapskate, I am just a smart shopper that would like to send a big box. Am I the only one that thinks perhaps 4 GE's a year are to many, no one commented on that.

I agree with you Lisa. I know that the gifts I have received in the past were so well planned. The last two I was in was WONDERFUL!!! Remember the penny mail?? Haha! I know my buddy really planned how to make my GE awesome!! I was getting penny mail every day! However, Lisa's never did show. I think the mailman stole it! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And Michelle did so much for Mikki that was "For Mikki". The Razorback dress (because she knew I was a Hog fan!), the quilts (which I totally LOVE!), and the necklaces and so much more!! My GE's have been so awesome!! I think it is more about the "well thought out" and "planning" that makes it special to me. That way I know that my buddy really did care about us!! I have never been disappointed. I hate that I have to miss this one. The Christmas GE is so much fun!!!!
