I do, purchase a few "fillers" as well, but the box I like to create contains a few special items that let the receiver know that I was so very happy to send a personalized box to them.
The boxes I have received, were likewise, filled with love. The dollar amount was never an issue, but in general the items that "wowed" were either homemade or purchased from a quality vendor.
The quilts from Shinja or the people sack from Rhonda (made by Sherry), the fleece blankets Rhonda made for us, or the Gingham dress from Michelle and her beautiful rag quilts as well or the little personalized bumble bee dress or even the laundry bag to hold my used potty pads designed for me by Cathy were all so special to me. If the boxes only contained that one item, I would have felt loved because these women took the time to find out about me and what makes us happy.
I know we are all different and that's what makes the GE special, just a different perspective |
I agree with you Lisa. I know that the gifts I have received in the past were so well planned. The last two I was in was WONDERFUL!!! Remember the penny mail?? Haha! I know my buddy really planned how to make my GE awesome!! I was getting penny mail every day! However, Lisa's never did show. I think the mailman stole it!

And Michelle did so much for Mikki that was "For Mikki". The Razorback dress (because she knew I was a Hog fan!), the quilts (which I totally LOVE!), and the necklaces and so much more!! My GE's have been so awesome!!
I think it is more about the "well thought out" and "planning" that makes it special to me. That way I know that my buddy really did care about us!! I have never been disappointed.
I hate that I have to miss this one. The Christmas GE is so much fun!!!!
