Wow So Much Stuff

I am truly sorry if it seemed like I was some newbie coming in here to get gifts and then whine when I couldn't participate...we will respectfully watch from the sidelines on this GE and then the next one, and hopefully in November I will know you all a little better and you will all know my intentions were always good. I would never give less than my all into putting together a box for someone..I 'm sorry a few troublemakers ruined it for the ladies devoted to this site, but c'est la vie.

I think we did this to ourselves by getting too big and spoiling too much. I just don't see how we can possibly "take it all back" now and go back to $40 boxes. Period. And to think that as on the GE just passed at Christmas time....we were working with a $25 minimum

. If I were ADMIN and had to deal with this every GE I would consider scrapping the whole thing and save myself a major headache

I am so glad you ladies came forward and posted your feelings. I consider myself now a "long time" participant in the GEs and I've been feeling the same way too. It's not the same as it was when I first started participating. I can say without a doubt, I too have felt hurt in a GE, but I came back to participate again, and I am here to tell anyone who dares to question that the good that comes from returning far outweighed any hurt I may have felt. What ever admin decides to do, I am in support of them.

I don't think any of us really want to see the GE go away, but can we take another look at the title of this thread? It's how many many many people feel when they look at what we have created.

Yes, it was created out of fun and love and giving, and maybe even a little friendly competition at times but newer participants aren't totally to blame for seeing Christmas, Round Two , when they discover this coveted tradition.

I go a little crazy.. but it is hard to put a price tag because I make a lot of the items. I try to keep tabs of the supplies.. but even them it is hard because I may buy extra fabric. If I put a dollar amount on the items as if I purchased them it would be a totally different amount.

I have been very happy with my SB (well.. except one and the yt members more than made up for it!). Kathy, Ronda are the very best!!!

The thing with me is it is like Christmas! I work very hard on my box, sewing and planning and thinking. I am so very nervious that it is good enough, should I buy more? Will they like it? Did I make the outfits the right size? I just am a worry wart. I think when I get my box I am on a emotional overload. Then the let down comes.. not because anything goes wrong.. it is the Christmas let down.

This part seems to be happening more often I can remember at least two GE that we all stepped up to fulfill a void left by someone else. Not that I minded giving to you but it kind of takes the wind out of the GE sails.

I don't want to see it go away. It's hard for me to see what everyone is talking about when, for me, it's not about what's in my box. I mean c'mon, it's the only place on YT where the dogs get to talk to other dogs and don't know we're listening in.

Yes "Wow so much Stuff" is unfortunately what has been created. Sometimes it's a matter of being crafty or being overly generous. Now we send cloud 9 beds as "teasers" and fill boxes to the brim with all kinds of things. I am including myself in our over the top treatment of the GE, which is why I thought a cap on the amount we could spend would be a good thing. Otherwise, I overspend

It goes by the exact day one joined YT and by the beginning date of the sign ups. JMuedog is an administator of YT and she did answer your questions in the other thread.

Wow, I didnt realize how many of you had these feelings. I would be sad if the GE went away, I agree with ChaCha it creates a place the dogs can talk to each other, haha. And I gotta say, when your busy lives get hectic what a great stress reliever!
