Wow So Much Stuff

Kathy I was wondering if the albums had size restrictions, I would love to create one and have tried. Perhaps I have gone to the wrong place to do it, I went to my CP, then selected photos and albums, I get a screen with two boxes one that says title and the other that says description but I don't see where you insert the album or the photo to upload, can you help me with that?

I, also, am in favor of a "cap" to help me to NOT overspend. It's really difficult when you love your SB and don't want them to be disappointed!

Lisa said this very well. I too tend to try to cap it myself. However, that is easier said then done. So I think a cap would be a good idea too. I found myself thinking oh my SB needs this! Lol.

I only participated in two so far but they are so much fun. As far as you all not wanting to join, we all are aware of the $40 limit and if you get a $40 box so what? It is the fun and love that goes with the GE that really matters. Not what was spent on the box. Please please please don't let that stop you from joining! We have so fun just trying to figure out who our SB is! And let's just say they kept me on my toes last time!!!! But it was something I will forever remember because of the thought and caring and love that was put into it. Amanda (Maddieadoptedme) was an amazing SB!!

With that said, I don't think anyone should not participate for fear of the need to spend more than they should. If you can make the $40 limit than come on and join!!!! It saddens me to think you held out because of this. You are missing TONS of fun!!!!

I think this is a suggestion that needs to be brought up again to Admin. A possible limit on the spending. I think it was mentioned at one time.

If you look at the lower left hand corner it will say "add album"... click on that...

Don't be intimidated by some of the members that are very generous with their GE boxes. There is a minimum but there is not a maximum. When you sign up for the GE there is a thread where you can suggest items that your dog might "like" to own. IMO if you follow this list to some degree your buddy will be very happy. It's not the amount of money spend but the though that goes into the gift. The disappointment always seems to be when the GE participates try to scam "the system" by sending things like used items, a box filled with $1 store items, or no gift at all. My last GE I received a sweater for Bogey from my buddy and I couldn't have been more thrilled! Yes, there were other things and teasers sent but the one thing that meant the most was the sweater that I had been eyeing for a while. Jump right in and join the fun! The gift giving is my favorite part. The gift getting is never quite as important to me unless the giver is not in the fun for the same reason as the others.

As for the Cloud 9 beds, I think that they are sent two fold. One to give a generous gift but more importantly to support YHR with their purchase. So I think that a lot of GE participant don't really "include" this purchase in their $ value of their box. So everyone is a winner including YHR.

The GE match up is random and I have had boys and girls. The most fun is puppies because they need EVERYTHING!

The Smileboxes are very easy to create because you are not required to resize your pictures like on YT. Never be intimated, all you need to do is ask questions and someone will be able to help you with pictures, albums, smilebox.....

BTW~if you still can't figure out how to post your albums just PM me as well. It's very simple.

I wanted to weigh in too on the budget. This was my first GE. I ummm went alittle crazy. And I had a blast. I also then had a lost box so had to go crazy again. I can see how it could be intimidating. But I made a choice to go wild and I did NOT expect to have a SB that did the same in return. I would have been happy with whatever we recieved. I happened however to get one that also did the same spoiling us rotten - but the most precious things we received in our box was two beautiful sketches of Pluto and his skin sister and the hand made little rag blanket so it's always the thought that is the most touching thing to me.

I think a cap of $100 would be something to consider, I know for me it was easy to exceed that because I bought things for our SB here and there once we found out who it was and not all at one time and it's just easy to do that. It's like what I do at Christmas. I start out and get this and that and then before you know it, when wrapping time comes.... I think, hey my girl is spoiled. .

So again, I wouldn't let the amount intimidate you. I would be so very happy with doing this again and getting a smaller basket where someone spent only the minimum. The most fun I have anyway is giving.

Thanks for bringing up this thread, I think it's a good conversation to have even if there is no change, and hope everyone reading this who has also felt intimidated, will consider joining.

Thank you thank you, I GOT IT the problem I had was I was looking for the bar to upload pictures, which you don't see until you enter the title and the description and then click onto the next page. As a suggestion perhaps they could add that little instruction onto the description page, because I am sure like me others wonder where to upload the pictures to.

Anyway I am SO excited that I finally have one album up, it's of Lola in her St Patty's day stuff, soon I will have others including one of her airplane trips to NY. PLEASE take a look at the album and let me know if you think our little mutt is as cute as we do. Thanks for all your offers of help, and I am going to join the next GE whenever it is

can anyone tell by the color of my name if I am able to be in the GE, rules say if your name is in light blue you are jr. donating member, my name is in blue but so are others so I don't know if I am light blue, medium blue, ocean blue, marine blue or so forth I just joined in Jan so I am not sure. thanks

I think you are Donating Member Blue. I think you are a lighter blue if you are a non-donating member but not really sure about that as I can't recall the specifics of the colors. Moderators are red and Admin is ?black? The color indicators I believe are under the heading called "Forums" at the top of this page and then page almost all the way down to the bottom and look at the current members and guests logged on. Colors are shown there.

As long as it says donating member...jr donating is not eligible because they donated less than 25. I am a little concerned that i also joined in january and the rules say they must be a member for 3 months by signups in april. But does it go by the specific date you joined? Because I joined after Jan 1. Hopefully its good enough, i'll be so mad if I'm just days off from being eligible. Can anyone clarify?

I haven't read the rules of the GE but soon somebody that knows them well will likely answer you or you could PM Admin. I would think they would go by the actual date you joined and count from there but wait for someone with good knowledge about it just in case.

Last night in my dreams or maybe I was only half sleeping I had several good ideas for the GE so now I cannot wait, in fact I am even going to try my hand at a craft that I have been wanting to try, it will be highly personal to the dog, and if I make it right, very cute and practical. I also had some great ideas on how to secretly tease and send messages to my Buddy during the exchange period. Sleeping last night was very productive, but now I am exhausted
