| help...I need advice please!!! Here's my dilemma. I am making a special surprise for a little one who's mommy has been battling cancer. The mommy manages a shoe store so I had Aymee do some beautiful embroidery of a shoe on a pilliow. When I was speaking to "mommy" about colour combinations she liked for sweaters and stuff she mentioned she liked Navy and Grey. Well, I couldn't find Navy but did find a nice Royal Blue pin whale corduroy. Today I went to take her some hair bows and she asked why I had so many blue ones and asked if they were for boy dogs. (They acutally have butterflies and dragonflies on them so ...no). Anyway she kind of indicate that she didn't like blue that much for girls. So now I need to make sure that I can add to this coat with "girly" colours so she likes it. I was going to do a different colour collar and maybe trim around the bottom but am now wondering if I should just turn this piece into a dress of some kind and what colours would look best to make her happy? I know this is long but before I start working with this beautiful piece thought I would ask for opinions from all you who dress their "girly girls". Oops..not able to load the embroidery pic from my tablet and dont want to retype this story so going to my pc to add the pic. Thanks for your ideas. |

| Here's the embroidery Here is the embroidery Aymee did. Like I say, I was going to make it into a coat, however the ladies who work at the store said Anyah has lots of coats including a leather one..so..wondering if I should make it into some kind of corduroy dress or just continue on with the coat and find some way to make it very girly. |

| How about white "fur" for a collar & hem? Or you could use white eyelet instead. Sweet!

| The shoe is very Cinderella, so the blue and silver look good with it. I don't think any other colors will look as good. Maybe the fabric could be girl-ier though, like one with glitter or tulle. I'd do a dress or a coat with a skirt on it, depending on how warm the fabric is. |

| how about making a pinafore type of dress, use the blue for the bodice and look for girly multi color fabric that has blues aquas, pinks and lavenders in it for the skirt, and make a peter pan type collar out of the same fabric as the skirt. you could add some of the blue material under the skirt which would give it that pinafore look

| Lovely Pinafore Style Chiffon Jean Dog Dress - DinoDirect.com here is something like what I am talking about, they took denim and combined it with fabric and a tulle to make it feminine

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | I like the idea of using pastels but do them in layers (3 layered skirt). Pink, purple and a matching blue would be a nice combination. Maybe a collar & bow done in the pastel blue to carry the color of the pillow. and if you could find a blue with polka dots that would be really cute. Use your creative mind . . . its in there and we all know that what ever you do will be awesome !!!

| It's finished... Well after all the great advice, here is what I came up with using the beautiful embroidery Aymee did for me. I hope she likes it. I also got the blue hat from Mimimomo that matches "perfectly" to the dress. How'd I do??? |
