How do you make clothes?

I made Sophia 2 cute little dresses once about 5 years ago. It was NOT easy! I took apart a store bought t-shirt and used it as a pattern. The quality was only so-so of course. I prefer to buy mine from the professionals here on Yorkie Talk for now!

I have tried a time or two as well. Mine just aren't as good as what I can get from the vendors here. Don't think sewing is my calling in life.

Because I sew,I used to think that ANYONE and EVERYONE could and should. I have 3 daughters,2 sew beautifully one of them professionally with me. My other daughter hates sewing and will only do it if it is something that she wants really bad,but she can cook up a storm and usually can trade with a sister for what she wants.
So if sewing is not your thing,,,you probably have a talent that a seamstress doesnt have.
Even though I sew,I dont crochet and wish that I could. There are sooooo many cute dresses made for furbabys that are crocheted.

What a great idea. I never thought of checking out the goodwill for "material". LOL That would be alot cheaper than going to the fabric stores.

What a great job all of you have done! I am trying to learn this as well. I hope my first attempt will come out ok. We will see. And I too love the idea about the thrift store. I would've never thought of that.
