Let's just say it's noisy here right now and I pick up alot of poo!!! I don't really consider sex when I evaluate. I find that males are easier to show as they don't go through as many hormonal changes and seem to be more eager to please. Alot of handlers find that it's easier if you can finish a female out of puppy class. Hormones really affect their coats as well as their moods. I have a male that could be show potential, it just depends on his size, looks like he'll be close to 6 pounds. In this litter I got 5 gals so I have more gals to choose from.

I bet you are having fun and working yourself to death with the pups.
I always prefer males myself for showing.
That female attitude sometimes is so hard to tell what mood she will pull out of the bag each day when showing lol
Some days they are so on it and some days they act as thou they have never even been trained.

I am growing out a litter now, I had 5 and still watching 4 of them they are almost 8 months old. One is sooo dark, I have never had such dark coloring. Mine was 4 boys and 1 girl. One is so gorgeous but has started acting shy on me

Is the dark Pup from Squeakers Line?
Can you post a picture of the Dark pup?
Stormy is really dark too.

How do U breeders get started with show Yorkies if there isn't any in their lines? Do U have to get one from a breeder that has show in their line? I don't think I'll ever show any but I still would like to learn about it all I know it must take years of hard work to win a show. Please tell me more. Oh do U have a website I can go to and see ALL U're Yorkies? Do U have photos of their wins? I think Yorkies are the MOST Beautiful Dogs in Showing! Really truely I do, not just because I have Yorkies or love our breed I just love that flowing coat and how they prance around, so sweet and precious! U're so intresting to learn from and help so much with all questions ask!! Truely U should start teaching classes on Yorkies or write a book! Really!!!!!!!!!! U're babies (ALL OF THEM ARE DOLLS!!!) He is a Nephew of Squeakers and he has parkside etc in his line.

Questions are how we learn so I don't mind and besides you never know when you may get bit by the show bug. Stacking refers to how a dog is set up on the table or floor. I've included several pics of Connor being stacked. You can teach the to self stack or you can manually stack them. The idea is for them to be positioned so that their assets are shown off to the best advantage. The front paws are aligned so that the chest looks square, the back legs are placed so that the topline is straight, the head is held high, and the tail is pushed forward. A dog doesn't have to have champion bloodlines in order to compete. It's just doubtful that it will have what it takes without a good back ground. If you find yourself with a pup that you think may be a good candidate for show you should get it into a handling class, do a few puppy matches if you can find any, and attend and observe some shows. As far as coat goes the standard calls for a silk coat, dark steel blue and golden tan in color. Most show dogs are between 5 and 6 lbs. I don't have a website, maybe someday but no time now.

Connor went through a shy spell after 6 monthes old. He is 14 monthes now and he is no longer shy. He's really come into his own. While he was feeling shy I took him to work so that he would be exposed to alot of people and to different surroundings. Hopefully your boy will grow out of it too. Busy? Yes!!!! I get up clean puppy pen, go to work, come home clean puppy pens, take the pups out to romp, feed and they collapse for the night. Yesterday they all got a bath. Stayed clean for all of 4 hours. They are a handful at this age that's for sure!

Your babies are just beautiful!! Thanks for understanding me asking so many questions and U're answer are great! That is so neat what U do when they are stacked and the WHY of it. How long have U been showing? I don't know if we could ever find any small shows here in our town (Seymour, Indiana) we do live in between Louisville and Indianapolis tho. I also have a question on U're puppies on the other post. I'm sure I'll have more questions on showing too. Are U in either of the photos? Also can I ask how old U are? Since Connor is a silk coat and Roxie is a redleg most of the pups should have silk coats. I know one of them will be modified to hard. I kept a gal from the last litter. She has the most incredible heavy silk coat and that's what I'm hoping to establish in my line. Connor's granddad was a bit on the soft side so I could end up with a soft coat as well. As the coat grows they won't get that fluffball appearance and the hair will be straighter if they are silk, it's thinner and finer even as pups. The dark ring around the nose is from the redleg. It simply shows a depth of pigment and it will be gone, in most cases, by the time they are 6 monthes old. I'll include a pic of Remi (from the last litter) as a pup with the ring and now. My babies went into the paper today, I also have a waiting list that I need to contact. I don't know yet if I'll advertise on YT as I'm not sure that I want to ship them since it's summer. The younger lady in the second pic is me, I'm 44 and a newbie at showing. Connor and I started in September. I have a great show mentor that I've been blessed with and have been on the fast track of yorkie learning for 4 years.

A redleg is basically a throw back from the early yorkies. If you find a pic of Huddenfeild's Ben ( a famous early yorkie) you will see that my Roxie looks like him. Her coat and skin are very deeply pigmented with a strong red tint to the gold. The coat is also a bit hard and breaks easily. Breeders use them about every 4 - 5 generations to bring color back into their lines. One of my gals out of this litter looks like she may be a redleg.
