The idea is for them to be positioned so that their assets are shown off to the best advantage. The front paws are aligned so that the chest looks square, the back legs are placed so that the topline is straight, the head is held high, and the tail is pushed forward. A dog doesn't have to have champion bloodlines in order to compete. It's just doubtful that it will have what it takes without a good back ground. If you find yourself with a pup that you think may be a good candidate for show you should get it into a handling class, do a few puppy matches if you can find any, and attend and observe some shows. As far as coat goes the standard calls for a silk coat, dark steel blue and golden tan in color. Most show dogs are between 5 and 6 lbs. I don't have a website, maybe someday but no time now. | Your babies are just beautiful!! Thanks for understanding me asking so many questions and U're answer are great! That is so neat what U do when they are stacked and the WHY of it. How long have U been showing? I don't know if we could ever find any small shows here in our town (Seymour, Indiana) we do live in between Louisville and Indianapolis tho. I also have a question on U're puppies on the other post. I'm sure I'll have more questions on showing too. Are U in either of the photos? Also can I ask how old U are? Hugs & many thanks, Lee and babies |
