| Dee's Lil Dixie Dollbaby and babies Well, Little Fart has two beautiful girls. it looked for awhile we were going to lose the larger one but she seems to be okay now. We had a section and when the vet handed the one baby to me, it was gaping. he had given her a shot to help her breath. I asked him if she had fluid in her lungs and he looked at me like he didn't have a clue. I sat right there and breathed a few times for her after swinging her over my head and down for a few times. I held her between my boobs to keep her warm and raced home and suctioned her. sure enough, she had some phelgm. They are both nursing now even tho, mama doesn't have milk right at the time. The girl on the left weighed 5oz and the girl on the right, 4.7 ozs. So pretty good size babies. Wish me luck. I think she will be alright but you never know for sure. I also had Little fart spayed so she feels rough but is doing well. may 12th. I forgot to put that in my title. Last edited by Sugar's Mom; 05-12-2007 at 09:30 AM. |

I have been so busy checking on them every few minutes today that I've hardly had time to look at Whiskey but he is doing great. right now he is stretched out beside my feet asleep. mama is doing a good job. i just wish she had more milk or it's going to be another long night for me. i haven't slept in three nights anyway. | she was not in distress. I WAS!!!!!!!!!! She hadn't eaten for days Lisa and i had been forcefedding her for a couple of days. i got in from a family emergency at three this morning and she was standing up and more alert than she had been in dayss. she kept digging all night. i never did go to sleep. I checked her first thing this morning and she was fine, then after I had a couple cups of coffee, I walked in to look at her again and she had a tiny bulge. i told my hubby to come check her and the buldge was a little larger. still no distress, no panting or anything. He was so worried, he told me to head to the vet with her so he called while I dressed and they said to bring her in because we already knew she might have to have a section. I put her butt toward me in the van so I could watch her and drove 68 miles an hour. She threw her head back three times in a fifteen minute period. By the time I got to the vet about twenty minutes, the bulge was the size of my hand. Water did not break or anything. vet took one look and said we need a section so off he took her. i am happy to say that since she woke up, she has been eating like a pig. Well, all I will let her have. The puppy that was in the canal and buldging is the one that had the trouble breathing on it's own. had I not gotten to the vet when I did, the puppy would have died and possibly, also my bitch. I was at the vet thirty minutes after I saw the first tiny buldge. I had already decided on the spay because this has been a very troublesome pregnancy for me. |

| I'm glad things all turned out well for you! Your babies are adorable and mom is still looking beautiful even after all she's been thru. Thanks for sharing the info about the c-section - I would've been a wreck but you sound like you handled things in a level headed manner and saved that poor baby! Congrats! |

| Dee, Congrats on the babies and sorry you had to have the Mom spayed. I'm like you.. a few years back I had a mom who had a hard time and need a section, I got her spayed too. I placed her in a home where she is now one pampered- spoilded little lady. The pups are a nice size and I had one from my last litter who also had a ruff time breathing at first but did just great after a few hours. |
