| Don't blame yourself. You did all you could do, and no one can predict these things. You gave your baby a loving home and family, and that's what matters. I don't think she would be mad at you for that.

| OMG I'm sooo sorry for the loss of your baby. There is just now way to predict when things will happen. You did everything right by taking her in for the C/S. You couldn't have known her reaction was anything other than normal. Get some rest for the little ones that need you... hugs and prayers...

| Oh my, I can't imagine how horrible you must feel. It makes my stomach turn to think this could happen. My baby girl Zoe may be pregnant as we speak with her first litter. It was my idea to breed her. What if this happens to her? I guess we don't really think about this when we set out on the happy adventure of babies. It may be hard, but I hope you are able to raise those pups. I hope one of the baby girls can be named Polly, after her mom. I pray for you and your family and your new babies. I can't imagine losing one of my dogs. I am sorry if I am being a downer, but reading your exciting line and then....... It just makes me so sad for you and so scared for my Zoe. Best of luck and more prayers.

| Where do you live? I have a mommy that just had 6 babies and she's pretty healthy. She weighed 8 lbs before she got pregnant. She lost 2, they were stillborn. This is her first litter and I started her on Pet-Cal the night she finished delivering. She's a mature mother with a loving nature and she went through six heats before I bred her. I've been taking her and the babies with me to work and checking on them every couple of hours to make sure she and pups are o.k. Some of my co-workers would check on her when I was busy and made sure the pups were latched on to mommy. They were born on the 10th and are fine (Thank God). Just had their tails cut yesterday. Stay encouraged and try to get help if you can. The good thing is...the puppies are full-term. Keep them warm, get premie nursers from a baby store or from a local hospital with a nursery, goats milk or premie milk works wonders, massage their genital with warm cotton balls. Do everything you can to save them. Your Ponytail Polly is so00....proud of you.. Last edited by Mister Dexter; 11-15-2006 at 04:52 AM. |
