| Paxton (Pax) October 10, 2015 It's possibly 6 weeks before Paxton can come home with us. I'm not really sure which puppy he will be. When the time comes, I'll ask the breeder for his smallest male pup with the same adorable face as his father. Just as before, I'm sure we'll then set up an appointment to meet the parents and puppies in another city and bring our new boy home. Having a new puppy has all come as quite a surprise. Even though I'm about to be a first time grandmother, twice, next year, I feel like a child inside waiting for his arrival. It could be as soon as 6 weeks yet at my age, I still haven't developed the patience I need to wait 6 weeks! Hopefully preparing for the holidays will make the time go by faster. We will start with that soon! Here's a picture, taken from a poor video, of possibly Paxton and his 2 brothers at 2 weeks. They are healthly little boys. |

| Congratulations they all are adorable. I was not sure from your other threads of how old Pax would be in 6 weeks. It is best to wait for them to be with their Mom for 12 weeks for better socialization training from their Mom and also maybe your breeder can determine which one is the gentlest or most obedient since I know you are worried about some of the training. The smallest might not be the best behaved or easiest to train.

| Thank you ladies! I suppose it's a matter of opinion but from studying I discovered socialization is very important between 7-9 weeks and training can begin at 7 weeks so I'm comfortable now with him coming home as early as 8 weeks. Thank you for your concern. |

| Beautiful babies! No doubt you are excited! Congrats on getting a new baby! I would be scared at 8 weeks to bring him home, my little guy was 12 weeks and his blood sugar dropped FAST 3 days after him being here and an emergency vet trip is what saved his life. I would make sure I had Nutrical on hand at all times and I wouldn't leave him for a minute. Yorkie babies are small delicate creatures that think they are dobermans

| I agree Cindy. I talked to my husband about it last night and also bought a book on Kindle, "Yorkshire Terrier Puppy Month by Month." It explained to me that yes although 7-9 weeks socialization is important but why it's important to be with the mother and litter mates as a little breed. For some reason, they don't know why, they will suddenly be fearful and they will start biting. They said they've tried to simulate this but it is not possible to correct what happens to them from being removed from the mother during that time. I'll insist that we are waiting to complete 12 weeks which means Jan 2nd he can come home. Perfect, after the holidays when all that excitement is over. I'm waiting to hear back from the breeder, hopefully today. I have some physical needs and have to be very mindful of what I'm doing. He breeds healthy dogs but he does have some dames that throw large pups. All I'm asking him is for the smallest dog of his finest so that when I'm out with my companion, I do not exceed 10 pounds including my personal things that I carry in my purse. So Pax may be one of these boys or a litter that is up and coming. Hope to find out something soon. |

| Good idea about waiting! Between Christmas and the new puppy you have a very exciting season coming up! I know the anticipation of the new pup and what pup etc. is exciting and nerve racking at the same time! I am very excited for you! Your breeder will hopefully be able to help you pick the perfect pup for you, there is nothing like bringing your new baby home and puppy kisses!
