I have to agree with you Lorraine 100%. The term 'designer breed' makes my head hurt. IMO, it's a fancy name put on a dog that's no more than a cross bred pooch. There is no standard because what's being created isn't a recognized breed--therefore, you don't have to worry about if the dog's temperament, appearance, physical stature, etc conform to set standards....there aren't any. But it's called something cute and marketable and sold as a specialty.

Sadly, the reality of it is that the "breed em because they sell" mentality exist and will until the next passing fad comes along.

I believe PT Barnum summed it up best when he said, "There's a sucker born every minute." And there's always someone there to capitalize off of them too.

I would also suggest you check with a rescue group, even with a Yorkie or Chi rescue group as I know they often place cross bred dogs as well. Good luck and welcome to YT!

I know in a few weeks if I'll have any Chorkie's.

I was breeding my Duke to my sisters Chihuahua before he passed away.
We don't know if it took yet or not.

I post pics if get get babies.

They look like little rottweilers.

Yeah thas what i was thinking when i saw the pics... you never know what your going to get as far as the look as well as the health.

We had to rehome her because things just weren't working out here with us. I had a lot of problems with her. For one she began chewing the corners of the walls in the house every chance she got. She REFUSED to be house broken. Those issues I could have worked with. BUT.. our other2 dogs didn't like her at all. I have a German Shepherd and a Yorkie. Shep would growl at her and run and hide every time she went near him. Diesel would end up getting rough and trying to bite her because of how aggressive she was. If she was sleeping and we moved her she would bite us. So I thought it would be better to find her a home with no other animals.

All mixes will look different. You just have to be careful and look long and hard before deciding to get one. Make sure you get to see the mom and dad so you can see what their temperament is like. Good luck.
