The "purists" way back then would not doubt have thought it was ruining, to change from the wirey haired larger breed. They probably told those people to stop ruining the breed, telling them that if they wanted a smaller, silky coated dog to go buy a different breed, and that those silky haired, undersized yorkies were sure to have health issues.

just out of curiosity how did you register them? i don't see anywhere on the website or the papers where it has a place for golden color? did you send in a pic with dna?

THEN you write you will breed his daughter and sell them as "pets". There must be a reason. You do not think anyone should breed for anything but breed standard but it is ok for you to breed this girl...Why?

I believe I said when you breed WITH AKC registration. If and when I breed Kera (my gold female) her pups will not come with any registration at all. They will probably be sold for vet costs only, as I did with my previous litter. I had my male fixed because I do not want to take any chances on my standard color AKC females getting pregnant by this male and now I don't have to lock him up when my females are in heat.

Personally, I think the partis, goldens, and chocolates are adorable. I would not pay more for one, but I have not yet heard of any health problems. Good luck in your search

this statement is right on!!!!

AKC does not set the standard. And AkC has accepted them as pure bred yorkies and does register them as such.

i think i am done with this tread. at least i know who not to get a new puppy from.

this is why your babies are so popular and people want them. you breed by the standard and have the most beautiful babies.

Yes, you are right...I am sorry, Loretta! I only felt comfortable with writing with what I did because I have exchanged several emails with Loretta in the past. But, you are right...this is Loretta's thread and I will stop now.

I am quite sure that the YTCA gets their information from solid reputable sources and its not something that they have dreamt up to stop less reputable breeders from cashing in!
