the question is not one that a yes/no kind of answer can be given. In case you haven't noticed the world is not black and white, it would be easy if it was. No matter what it is you are in, jobs, hobbies, sports, dogs, horses, the whole thing called life is many shades of gray.
I have been petitioned a few times to write a book, maybe I will one day and that issue would be a chapter in itself.

If that is your honest opinion, then you have not struck a nerve at all. However, since this conversation took this turn, that is the impression I have gotten. Also by some of the other posts I have seen before. I've been outright told that on this forum before by OTHER members not even involved in this thread. But those arguments started in the same manner as this one did...which is the ONLY point I was trying to make from the beginning.

I Believe To Each His Own With Breeding But I Also Believe That It Is To Better To Bred And Keep It As Close To The Standard As Possible There Is Alot Of Health Problems In The Yorkies Today Because Of Byb Wanting To Make A Fast Buck Alot Of Ckc People That Do Not Want To Keep Up With Records And So Some Are Not In To Good Breeding Habits Some Sell And Do Not Have There Puppies Checked For Legs And Liver What Is The Cost Of Testing Compaired To The Price You May Be Gettening I Feel If You Are Going To Bred Protect The Yorkie Some Sell With Open Fountals And Other Issues And Than We Have Alot Of Problem Yorkies And It Is Sad I Know Some Retired Show People That Still Bred The Yorkies But They Have Years Of Experince I Just Feel For The Little Two Pounders That Have Health Issues And People Spend Lots On Vet Bills Just To Loose Them To Me The Standard Is Up To 7 Pounds And The 4 To 6 Is My Favorite I Have Had Less Health Problems I Bought A Tiny Last Year He Was 1.14 Ounces At Eight Months Old He Had Sever Roach Back Open Fountails And Many Other Problems I Sold Him Back To The Breeder It Was Not
A Thing I Would Ever Even Consider To Bred To And He Cost Me 3800.00 Dollars Over Two Months Just To Get Him Healthy
It Was A Very Big Loss For Me But A Very Valueable Lesson Also

Oops, sorry, I had already responded before you revised your answer. I think if you have hit any nerve at all, it's the one sensitive to being talked to like I've never been out of my house before. Thank you for enlightening me to "the whole thing called life." I believe THIS is what was meant by condescending...

What other posts? Since I know I have attempted to be nothing but helpful.

I have my own breeding practices and they are mine. What I do not agree with is backyard breeders/puppy millers or people that go into breeding unprepared.

Dry sense of humour actually, not condescending but call it what you wish.

Typical Canadian. Took awhile getting use to it...but, after awhile being around the likes of other Canadian exhibitors.....I finally got it.

This just amazes me! It does seem when show breeder/exhibitors offer advise or help to those that ask for "show" help, one thing just leads to another and then suddenly, breeders who do not apparently know very much about it pounce on these dedicated. highly respected, ethical, educated, show breeders acting as if they were offended. When they advise being careful who you buy from and give suggestions on what to look for and what to avoid and you get offended....well, that certainly tells me something. I was pounced on by one of these "non show" breeders, accused of being someone sneaking back on the forum from the humane society simply because I suggested someone spay or neuter their puppy that was not standard, let alone show quality. I feel grateful these people come on here to offer their advise and help. There are a lot of "show breeder" that some of you like to so proudly brag about having there lines somewhere back in your pedigrees that wouldn't come on this forum if you paid them! Fortunately, YT is blessed with having a few kind, caring people on here to help when asked. I also think that everyone that breeds should try to find an all breed club or specialty club in your area. There is a wealth of information there for anyone who is generally interested in correct breeding practices. You don't have to show if you don't want to. (Even though, you're missing a lot of fun.) This is a big forum, and everyone loves looking at the pictures, and hearing Yorkie stories. We all love our little babies, but lets just be gratful for the help we can get to do everything the right way for these that we love, just like our human children.

<sigh> Not specifically your post....as I have mentioned several times, this stemmed from something else, a similar situation in the past...

There is a difference in educating someone politely and educating someone rudely...that is where a lot of argument comes into play. Once again, I will mention, it's all in the words that you use and how you use them. NO ONE wants to be talked down to...do you?
